I was wondering the same thing . Has anyone spoke to the new management or heard any of their plans ? These guys seem to have come out of left field and no one that i know saw this coming or knows much about these guys outside of where they are from . The only one i have heard anything about at all is Jim Payetta who i was told owns a few different companies called Blue Sky Investments , Red Barn Capital and Tera Public Venture Trust. I was told that he wrote a book called Simple Truths that is about advertising and marketing . The other two guys nobody seems to know anything about other then they are suppose to have deep pockets . I want to make sure that everyone here knows that i was told this second hand and i don't know that this information is factual. I hope these guys step forward with their immediate plans and more importantly any new rules or classes they have planned for Barrie Speedway . The worst thing these guys could do is go Nascar Canada and not release a schedule or rule book until 15 minutes before the first race. We are going to build a new car ( not a LM ) for 08 and need to know the rules before we start . I have been told by the people at Sunset that there will be no major changes there so if we don't hear from Barrie who is are first choice we will be building a Sunset car.

All that we know for sure is that they want the ideas to come in. They called a meeting after the races for next Saturday night. Sounded like they want some reps. from each class to take in the ideas. We will know for sure after Saturday night.

What was Yorkies idea ? If they are reading on here they should start a thread taking opinions and ideas, here sort of a internet suggestion box.

yorkies idea was a drivers assoc with class rep so the lines of communication with the track, officials and drivers could be more open and clearer. yorkie took some heat for this and did not seem to have a lot of support or help with it.

I think there are two main things I would do.

1 We need a new flag stand on the backstretch, too much bumping n running is going on.

2. A new hoispitality tower. This is imo what will seperate BSW asthetics wise. Of course that scoring tower that was promised would be nice too :)

and my final suggestion would be to bring in a tech that knows IMPORTSto do 4 cyl. teching. I want to know if those Hondas are alll cheating or not..lol..i have no opinoons, i assume they are all not, but when a cam is meassured in the car you knwo theyy have no idea what they are doing. It is unfortunate that this is the way it is at BSW...i do think all of the Hondas are running prety clean, but i just want them to know that there is someone i the tech shed who has an idea what they are looking at...we had one..but he was tossed out like a wet rag unfortunately.

they already have a flag stand in the back corner and it has been manned for the last 3 weeks, they know the rules must be out early and there talking about an early rules meeting. Thats great. think they were saying some announcements to come at the banquet.. stayed tuned

My thoughts on a couple of possible changes I'd like to see, Having a techman for each division, this way they wont have to cut short what they would like tech if one class isn't finished, when the next comes off the track, and perhaps to help reduce the amount of cheating going on, thats if anyones cheating bring back the rule from days of old when you got caught you lost all points you earned to that point in the season, I very seldom ever heard of anyone cheating when they had so much to lose,
Seeing a back stretch flagman and corner stewards will really get a handle on any mishaps on the track that may be questionable.....  this is just my opinion

yes they definately need to bring back the if your Dq'd then you lose all points for the season! or something more severe then just that one night of points cause you could have had that illegal part on for more then just that one night! I would say penalizing somebody a minimum of 300 points if they are caught cheating would be acceptable. That way they would be out of the championship hunt!

I think all that would do is get people to track hop. I would think that if most drivers were to lose an entire nights worth of points, then that pretty much counts them out of the championship anyway!

we take 15% of the year to date points for the first offense,25% for second offence and one race suspension and seize all illegal parts.
