Busy evening of racing this Sunday at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont –Wednesday, August 24, 2016 – Martin Bélanger – A total of 6 different divisions will be in action this coming Sunday at Cornwall Motor Speedway making it a very busy evening! The Race for the Cure Sportsman Series Finale will be completed along with the special 40-lap Pro-Stock event, a 25-lap Street Stock invitational, the Vintage club, Modifieds and Mini-Stock.

The final round of the first edition of the Race for the Cure Sportsman Series will be run this Sunday with a 100-lap feature event, Shane Pecore currently holds a 15-point margin over Martin Pelletier and 18 points on Tyler Givogue. This series has been really popular so far with 28 drivers still in the hunt for the GM Crate Engine perfect attendance draw sponsored by Seaway GM. An average of 34 cars has attended both events that has seen some of the best talent in the area!

The Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock will have a special 40-lap event that should attract a few invaders for the occasion. This division has offered some of the greatest racing of the season at several times. The championship race will be one to watch between Stephane Lebrun and Rock Aubin, following his latest win, Lebrun has taken the lead with a slim 4-point distance over Aubin.

The other exciting championship hunt to watch will be in the Bandit Motorsports Modified division as only 5 points separates three drivers! Chris Raabe is the new leader after his win last Sunday, he has a 4-point edge over Carey Terrance and Mario Clair is well positioned being 1 small point behind Terrance. This trio will be to watch during heat races as well as feature events as they have only 2 Sundays left to the season.

Again a lot of interest for the Street Stock Invitational, some of the best competitors from Brockville and Brighton will make the haul for the 25-lap event paying $300 to win. The Vintage Club will also be on hand as we are expecting to see nearly 20 drivers for the occasion. The Mini-Stock will close out the evening having a regular program, unfortunately for them, the dash for cash was cancelled as not enough perfect attendees were available to build a full field for the dash.

Because of a busy evening the racing will start earlier, hot laps will be on track at 5:45pm, time trials are scheduled for 6:10pm with both Sportsman and Pro-Stock having sessions and qualifying will begin at 6:30pm. General admission will cost 20$ for adults, 10$ for Senior and kids 16 and under, only 2$ with gates opening at 4pm. The pit area will open their doors at 2pm with admission being priced at 30$. We are expecting to break the 100-car attendance pretty easily for Sunday.
