Heard that Gibbons Showcar truck and hauler was stolen on Thursday near St. Eustache.
-
it seems every year you hear stories of guys having their stuff stolen in quebec
is it really THAT bad down there, theft-wise?
-
Yes as the police there treat everything like it was a stoled bike. Quebec is know for a lot of telephone scams as well. That have cheated people out of millions of dollars and they hide there as they know the police don't do anything.

I wish I could say I was surprised , but I am not. I hope Gibbons Motorsports is able to carry on without too much hardship from this unfortunate circumstance. There is a way to disable the electronic ignition system on todays vehicles to prevent the engine from being started . When I did the showcar program for the UAP/NAPA team several years ago, I was directed to make sure the appropiate chip was removed anytime I was out of eyesight of the truck .

How long before teams stop going to Quebec because they are afraid that their stuff will get stolen?
-
surprised they didn't have agps locator to find it. That saved the Kubota hauler a few years back.

was not gibbons stuff it be long to ctc, not a show car but it was the display stuff. its usually on the grandstand side at race tracks.

From what i heard is the CT got a second trailer like the one with all the tv's and playstations and that was what got stolen i believe. The second one was to go on the road across canada promoting the tour. This is just what i heard.

ctc got the truck & trailer back, flat screen tvs & play stations are gone thats all they took.
