Dale Reinhart Scores First Career OSCAAR Feature Victory

After coming close oh so many times, Dale Reinhart made it happen on Sunday at Sauble Speedway as he scored the victory in the 40-lap feature.

The event was set to be a two-day show, with qualifying and features on both days. However, a single set of heats was ran on Saturday before the rain came, ending the show early.

Cory Horner scored his 10th heat victory of the year ahead of Luke Gignac, Gary Elliott, John Harper, Marshall Schrenk, Ken Hayward, and Tyler Di Venanzo.

Jeff Showler picked up his third qualifying win ahead of Dale Reinhart, Jase Cornell, Jason Keen, Jason Bowden, and Wally Wilson.

Come Sunday, the modifieds were able to get their full show in without any issues.

Luke Gignac scored his third heat victory of the year ahead of Keen, Horner, Elliott, Schrenk, and Hayward.

Dale Reinhart picked up his second qualifying win ahead of Harper, Cornell, Showler, Bowden, and Wilson.

John Harper scored his fourth heat victory of the year ahead of Horner, Keen, Schrenk, Wilson, and Showler.

Gary Elliott picked up his third qualifying win ahead of Cornell, Reinhart, Gignac, Bowden, and Hayward.

Come feature time, Dale Reinhart found his way to the front and that’s all it took as he led the rest of the way for his first career OSCAAR modified feature victory. It also marked his fifth straight top-five finish.

John Harper finished second for his eighth top-five of 2018, followed by Jason Keen with his first career OSCAAR podium finish. Cory Horner fought back from a mid-race incident to finish fourth for his sixth top-five, followed by Luke Gignac rounding out the top-five.

Marshall Schrnek finished sixth for a season-best performance ahead of Gary Elliott, Jason Bowden, Wally Wilson, and Jase Cornell. Notably, Wilson’s ninth is his best career OSCAAR finish. Jeff Showler and Ken Hayward both failed to start the feature after problems in qualifying.
