WITH HIS AUSSIE HEROES – FARNHAM, HUNTERS & COLLECTORS AND NOISEWORKS

It’s been a life changing few weeks for 2011 X Factor winner Reece Mastin.  He recently celebrated his 17th birthday, his debut single ‘Good Night’ went straight to #1 in the charts and now he’s taking the stage at this weekend’s Sydney Telstra 500 with Australia’s greatest Aussie rock heroes.

The country’s newest and hottest young artist Reece Mastin will be appearing on the bill with legends of Aussie rock – John Farnham, Hunters & Collectors, Noiseworks and James Reyne for a performance of his #1 hit ‘Good Night’ live on Saturday 3rd December.

It will be Reece’s first major outdoor performance since he won the X Factor title.  And with the 2010 Sydney Telstra 500 drawing crowds of more than 160,000 people there’s guaranteed to be a mighty big audience for his debut performance at ANZ Stadium. Then on Sunday he will rev up the crowd and rock the race grid before Sunday’s V8 Supercars Championship closer.

The young singer will experience first hand with his idols, saying: “what a privilege to share the stage with some of my Australian rock heroes - it’s a DREAM line up - I feel very humble - first Kylie (Minogue) now these guys and as for the V8 Supercars – that is hard core ROCK!”

V8 Supercars Chairman, Tony Cochrane said of the newest addition to the entertainment,

“Reece is going to be in some great company on that Sydney Telstra 500 stage on Saturday night.  As a young artist just starting his career, who wouldn’t want to be sharing the limelight with the likes of such incredible voices as Farnham, Seymour and Stevens.  It’s not only the V8 Supercar fans who are going to be in for a once in a lifetime experience on Saturday night!”

The Sydney Telstra 500 is three-days of awesome, non-stop entertainment combining a hair-raising street race with two nights of sensational concerts.  But it’s not all about the music.  In 2011, the popular Armor All Auto Show promises to be Australia’s largest private car show with private collectors showing off some priceless vehicles from every part of the country.

From rare cars to cartoons coming to life, car fans of all ages are in for an awesome experience as Disney. Pixar’s CARS Truck Tour makes its final V8 Supercar stop at the Sydney Telstra 500.  A world-first attraction, the CARS Truck Tour is a mobile themed attraction housed both inside and outside of a life-size MACK the Transporter. One not to be missed!

Fans can enjoy it all with the 3-day Rock n’ Race pass for just $133. Public transport is also included with pre purchase ticket on select services from www.ticketek.com.au.  For more information about the race go to www.v8supercars.com.au.

I used to really enjoy the weekends of music and racing at Cayuga back in the gool ol days. It would be cool to see a track try this again. Maybe even NCATS could have a decent band play after a race . It would help with the traffic situation as the die hard race fans would leave right after the checkered flag . The V8 Supercars are the top dawg in Australia , so the fan base is already commited to attending. Who knows ? It could help grow events here.
