BOURQUE RUNS STRONG OUT WEST IN AARON’S DREAM MACHINE

Vernon, BC.  (July 24, 2011)   Canadian NASCAR driver Pierre Bourque brought the #00 Aaron’s Dream Machine Dodge to Motoplex Speedway near beautiful Vernon, BC in the Okanagan Valley for round number six of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series this past weekend.  In the longest race of the season Bourque not only survived but thrived and made an impressive showing.

Following the afternoon practice session Bourque was pleased with the #00 Aaron’s Dream Machine Dodge.  “The guys did a super job preparing the car” said Bourque.  “I was anxious to get back here to this beautiful track and get some laps in” he added.

Bourque would qualify the #00 Aaron’s Dream Machine Dodge and roll off for the 300 lap main event from the inside of row nine.  “This is such a long race and takes a toll on the drivers and equipment I wanted to just take my time and try to make some steady progress” said Bourque.

While Bourque was trying to stay out of trouble others at times found it over the course of the race.  Early on the #00 Aaron’s Dream Machine Dodge was collected in incidents however Bourque was not rattled by it.  “I knew it was still early and we had a long way to go and that our car was running very well” explained Bourque.  “We just went back to work”.

Bourque and the #00 Aaron’s Dream Machine Dodge team would begin to work their way back slowly but steadily.  Nearing the midway point of the race Bourque had climbed back up toward the top ten.  Following a restart just past the halfway point Bourque’ had moved up inside the top ten to eighth place.  “I was very pleased how we battled back after some early adversity” said Bourque.  “We still had a long way to go but things were looking very good for us” he added.

Following scheduled stops for fuel and new tires Bourque continued to push the #00 Aaron’s Dream Machine Dodge in the second half of the race.  Unfortunately again Bourque would be collected in an incident on the back straight.  “As it got later in the race everyone was pushing a bit harder and we got collected in a racing incident” said the driver.

With it being later in the race Bourque did not have as many laps to try and make up positions in the #00 Aaron’s Dream Machine Dodge and he would cross the finish line thirteenth.  “We definitely had a better car than our finishing position showed but we just ran out of time” said Bourque.  “At the same time we’re excited to get back on the track in Saskatoon in a couple of days knowing what a strong car we have” he added.

Pierre Bourque and the #00 Aaron’s Dream Machine Dodge team are back in action on Wednesday July 27th at Auto Clearing Motor Speedway.
