Round #2 of the Gaetan`s Chip Stand Canadian Nationals this Sunday at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

 

Cornwall, Ont – Thursday, August 1, 2013 – Martin Bélanger – The Jiffy Auto Services Modified division will be in the spotlight this Sunday as round 2 of the Gaetan`s Chip Stand Canadian Nationals with a 100-lap feature event will be the main event of the evening sponsored by Jiffy Auto Services as the Sportsman, Pro-Stock and Mini-Stock will share the racing card.

 

The best Modified driver from Ontario, Quebec and Northern United States will be in Cornwall for the $4,000 to win event, Mat Williamson currently leads the Series points over Jimmy Phelps and Danny Johnson. Local stars Carey Terrance and Brian McDonald completes the top 5 after race #1. Over 35 Modifieds are expected for this race.

 

Drivers from the Tracy Wheeler Storm Realty Sportsman division will take the track for a 20-lap event, defending champion, Chris Herbison holds a slight 4-point edge over rookie of the year contender, Joey Ladouceur. A 12-lap feature race will also occur during the evening for drivers that occupy the bottom half of the point chart. A solid group of drivers will be on hand.

 

The Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock category will run a 20-lap feature race with returning to competition frontrunner Dave Bissonnette leading the way in front of Roch Aubin and Ghislain Valade. Five differents drivers visited the winner`s circle so far in 2013.

 

The Baxtrom YIG Mini-Stock division will also be on with a 12-lap event, veteran runner Mike Gaucher is on a hot streak with 3 wins in a row and holds a 29-point lead in the championship.

 

Pit Gates will open at 4:30pm with general admission opening at 5:30pm. The first heat is scheduled for 7pm. General Admission will costs 25$ with children 18 years and under only 2$, seniors 65 and over will be 15$ and Pit Admission will be $35.
