Sprint Car Action this Sunday at Cornwall Motor Speedway!
Cornwall, Ont – Friday, August 23, 2013 – Martin Bélanger – Sprint Car fans will be pleased this Sunday at three 360 Sprint Car sanction will work together to present an event at Cornwall along with Sportsman, Pro-Stock and the Semi-Pro will have a special 25-lap event and the Vintage Stock Car Club will also be present on Nortrax Night.
The Patriot Sprint Tour, CAOSS and Southern Ontario Sprints will work together this Sunday to present a 25-lap feature; each sanctioning body will use this event to count into their own point’s structure. These drivers will have busy weekend as several of them will travel to Autodrome Granby on Friday and then hit Brockville Saturday before ending their weekend in Cornwall.
We should see some of the best 360 Sprint Car drivers such as top PST runners such as Justin Barger, Jamie Collard, Jason Barney and Jared Zimbardi. They will be joined by CAOSS point’s leader Steve Poirier, Kevin Ward, Jeff Cook and Lee Ladouceur. Current SOS leader, Chris Jones will lead the way with Mitch Brown, Keith Dempster, Warren Mahoney and Glen Styres. A solid group of cars is expected for the weekend.
Another visiting sanction will be at the speedway as the Vintage Stock Car club will make their annual trek in Cornwall. Brockville regulars such as Jason Powers, Dave Wilgosh, Steve Arbuthnot, Steve Lackie, Brandon Gregory, Denzil and Paul Billings and several others will make the trip to the speedway for a 15-lap affair.
The Evans Bus Line Semi-Pro division will have a special 25-lap feature event as Derek Cryderman will want to extend his small lead of 8 points over Steve Billings. The best field of the season is expected for this event.
The Tracy Wheeler Storm Realty Sportsman and Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock will also be on hand with a regular event as their point`s championship is almost done with only 2 shows left including this Sunday.
Pit Gates will open at 3:30pm with general admission opening at 4:30pm. The first heat is scheduled for 7pm. General Admission will costs 16$ with children 18 years and under only 2$, seniors 65 and over will be 10$ and Pit Admission will be $27.
