BAR no one is looking to crucify you for having your opinion as this is a message board to discuss anything and everything to do with racing.

Southernsponsor, tell you Corp exec's there were a few more A & W combos consumed today.  On my way to my bowling tournament we stopped there for lunch.  Also plan on going again tomorrow during one of the races at the Autumn Colours to use my coupons.

Sorry Guys, I had to remove my replies because when I read them it sounded like I was trash talking about Nascar and that is not my intent, nor is it to argue with guys like DW, Duken or Southern Sponsor..... I just get so wrapped up in all the talks of promise that when I think about it I go off in a rampage.

There are series out there that are making seance, both Sponsor wise and money wise, and we should just keep our focus on what all makes sense.

I wonder if there is any money in Drag Racing...Top Fuel...Pro Stock ????

Again, Sorry if I sounded like I was on a mission from hell !!

We should all get xboxs  and race online!!!!  that way we dont "phsyco"  analize everything!!   I dont know about the other corporate sponsors,  but our team was backed by corporate A&W  for the first time this year, before  we had a local franchisee (wyatt mcmurray) who owns 14 A&W s  in the west.  And he has been bangin on the corp door for years,  he beleives in motorsports marketing.   Without being able to show them Nascars demographic studies  and videos  and such....they would have laughed us to the curb.   i will say i had a meeting with them last week  and they loved hosting the two events  in barrie and vernon.... they saw exceptional coverage from it.  they are very happy with there nascar experience all together.  i havent comfirmed anything yet,  but it looks like Teen burgers and root beer floats for the 21 team, as well as the races being backed again too.  i cant wait.   they  told me i had to be the "rootbear"  at the hockey game though....oh well,  i always said i would do anything to race!!!!  ya'll  have a great weekend,  we have lots to be thankful for....like racing!!!!    chow  #21  jw

LynchFan you just said it all when you said "  Nascar had always said finding the teams sponsors was not in their mandate."

Sponsors that are involved now in the Nascar series that were not in the last few seasons of Cascar or have increased there presence since the take over.... (correct me where I'm wrong I 'm just going from memory)

Full Throttle
Dickies
A&W (Associate in Cascar)
Tow Truck in a Box
Royal Distributing
Maple Lodge
Beyond Digital (Cascar contingency??)
Allied Steel
Wal-Mart
Ubisoft
Haldex(Associate in Cascar)

Nascar had always said finding the teams sponsors was not in their mandate.  That may change if car counts dip too low we'll see.  It was everyones hopw that the Nascar name would help to sell the sponsorship packages.  Hopefully the reason corporate Canada has been slow to climb on board is that they're just waiting to see numbers that support growth through attendance and ratings on tv and not just lack of interest in this type of marketing.
As well I don't recall seeing Arctic Cat or the Armed Forces on Hathaways car under the Nascar banner.  Hopefully they can be convinced to come back.....

Well so that BAR can finally sleep, I'll post a response.  And yes I was at Autumn Colours today and will be back at the track on Sunday.  First and foremost I have and never will claim to have all the answers, my comments are based on what I see as a fan watching the events or what I have heard from drivers/team members and such.  And since I am only a fan I don't have the privilege of having any inside information like yourself BAR who works on one of the teams.  Anyways onto BAR and his request for sponsors that have come on board because of NASCAR.

As you can reread in my original post, Jason said that there were a few new sponsors but that the impact was not where they were hoping it would be.  There's nothing to read between the lines BAR, he wasn't covering his butt to avoid issues with Tech next year (still don't comprehend your theory on that but I'm sure you will help us understand).  He openly and freely spoke his mind.  You are correct I will use the sponsor of Tow Truck in a Box as a response cause you have told me repeatedly that wasn't valid.  I look at the Wal-Mart cars and the UbiSoft car sponsors were they in CASCAR?  And if they were were they as involved then as they are now in the series?  I would also say the A & W sponsorship has come on board more now then when Jason first started in the series.  Haldex was in the series I believe when it was CASCAR but I don't think it was a primary sponsor like it currently is on D. Brown's car.

But my whole point to the issue of new sponsorship in NASCAR here in Canada is this.  Is it where it needs to be to help these teams to further their programs?? NO  But without the sponsors would these drivers still be running in the series? Some would but with a reduced level of committment as I've stated in the past when you disagreed with me using BDI as a sponsor on Micks car.  The quote is in the Inside Track magazine from Kerry, without BDI coming on board as a primary sponsor they may not have been able to run a full season.  I have never once said that it was all because of NASCAR that the sponsors are on the cars, what I said was that with the association to NASCAR the teams were able to use it as a marketing ploy to gain additional support in sponsorship.  There is a big difference in those 2 comments.

In the end BAR we all will have to wait and see what happens with next season for the NCATS.  Will there be the number of teams leaving the series as you have claimed in the past?  Will there be more events and will there be more sponsors associated with those events?  I just wish the season wasn't so short here, cause now we have to wait 7 months or so before the next event on the NASCAR Canadian Tire series.

Yes Duken, your right I missed that part about Autumn Colors I guess, although, I stand correct with what I said as well as what Jason said, and for those that think otherwise - Good luck with your theories on just where we stand as racers.

I'm not calling anyone down here, but stating for the record that if you are on the side of DW, and believe that Nascar alone is going to make everything better here in Canada in racing, then you should consider taking up sky diving without a shute.

The flights the same- the jumps the same- but just when you think you know what your doing the shute doesn't open... Big dreams with a terrible ending.

Has it ever crossed your mind that Jason was trying to say- nothing has changed- nothing is new- and said it without pointing fingers that could mess up Team 3's chance of getting through Tech next year.
Hathaway simply stated, without going into detail, that NO- Nascar has not made a difference in finding Sponsorship's for everyone in the series, and my point was, I don't think at this time any series, ARCA, NASCAR, etc. is making a difference at this time either.

Again- DW is not here so if you know of any other deals that came to be because of the big 'N' being associated with finding sponsors for teams...please go ahead and tell us all.

If they have, then a big hats off to Nascar and thank you for doing what you said you were going to do with this series in Canada, and that would make my theroy- garbage and trash talk.

Perhaps in your quest for an argument with DW  ,you failed to comprehend the part where he/she stated they were leaving today at 4.30 to attend the Autumn Colours event ?  ;)

Hey DW.. I heard the interview and Jason did a good job.

Your point.. that I would love what he said about Nascar and Sponsorship's... has me a little confused with regards to your statement's.

Jason said a few have gotten Sponsors because of the Nascar title.... A FEW !!
I can more then likely name them all for you, just so you know of the few....
Tow Truck in a Box... and .... hold on..... I know... there must be another one ...
Maybe A&W But according to the 21 Team- that is there deal and not NASCAR's.

DW- I need your help here.
Can you list the sponsors that have come on board because of NASCAR...
My mind went blank after Scott's deal with Tow Truck in a Box.

I do know that Jason's Sponsor's.... let me rephrase that- Ed's Sponsors,
are Snap-On, Artic Cat, Canadian Arm Forces and Fast Eddies, which were all deals on Team 3 long before NASCAR came along, and deals that Ed successfully put together.

Ed has them as sponsors, because they are Customers of Fast Eddies and Choko.

DW- You really need to fill us all in on the other sponsors that have signed on over the past 2 years because of NASCAR.

I prefer to like Jason's comment on the fact that Sponsorship's are no where near what everone thought they would be....
Now that's a true statement that holds allot of merit.

Again- I am not knocking Nascar, or Companies in Canada that could be sponsor's, but lets keep the facts straight so no one thinks that Nascar is the answer to everyones problem of finding sponsor's.

The best everyone had it in this deal was back in the CASCAR days, and I doubt very much that we will ever see it as good- regardless if this is NASCAR- ARCA- CASCAR or what ever.

By the way... Jason congratulations on your first Cascar Super Series/ Nascar win !!
