Interesting mix. I like how the big LM events are back and I like the general balance of the off-weeks for each of the divisions. I like how AVSS and IMSA are coming back, but I'm hoping more of the ARCA trucks and Cup Lites show up then their respective leagues got last season. I like the format of the Friday of Victoria Day weekend (all features night); however, I can see it being a pain coming up with a suitable line-up on points for those events. Looking at the divisions running alongside the "big" events, it's not hard to tell where the track expects to have more cars this season...

It all looks good to me! This may be the first time in a LONG time that regular divisions haven't started till May. Probly safer that way for rainouts.

That all-feature night should be fun. But can ya get em all in the pits?

Yep...good stuff.

wait a minute....

searches a second time......

no Vintages?

*snif*

Interesting side note about the schedule. From the way the late model dates are laid out, it would be safe to assume that it would almost be impossible for a Delaware driver to go for the MAARA title as well. Out of the 10 tentative events on the 2007 MAARA schedule, 2 events occur on the same night as a Delaware LM night. 4 events take place the day after a Delaware LM night, while one takes place the night before the APC 300. One race is scheduled for Delaware, while 2 events are on weekends that the LMs are off. Now I know the MAARA had a rule where the worst result out of the 5 races in 2006 was dropped. If they were to make it 2 races dropped out of 10, then theoretically it would be possible for someone from Delaware to go for the title. Mind you, they'd be racing twice a weekend for 5 weekends, but that's the nature of the beast, I guess...

Heh...what NASCAR series?

As far as that goes, touring series' are way overrated, unless its something really different. I mean, why go with ALSTAR when the regular Delaware LMs look the same and are just as good? Same with NASCAR really, except the C/NASCAR cars are slower.

Only thing NASCAR is tops at is hype...which has been literally nil since the initial announcement of them buying out CASCAR.

I'm not afraid to admit that Cup Lites is a name I'd never heard until this schedule came out - but after a quick google search they look so cool.

At first I thought they were Junior Racing League cars on steroids...  After watching some of the information videos they are clearly much more than that!  They've got a whole bunch of videos up on their website here: http://www.cuplites.info/video.html even some full races.

This video was especially interesting.  Just good background on the series. http://www.cuplites.info/video_player/1999promo.html obviously bigger than a JRL car (JRL's are 1/2 scale, these are 3/4 scale) and much, much more powerful (9hp vs 150hp if I recall).  Impressive...  Not even comparable to a JRL car - except for the size.

It's going to look like the Nextel Cup came rolling in!  Well...  Until the pace car rolls out. :D

Yeah...I'd never heard of them either. They look like fun. A cute diversion from the norm anyway.

Are the Cup Lites cars and the Ontario Pro Challenge cars compatible? If they are, we could see a 25 car field out of it, which would be almost comparable with CASCAR....

Cup Lites are slightly smaller, have a snowmobile engine and are belt driven. as well, you sit in the middle of the car and exit through the roof. we have 1100cc Kawaski w/ Toyta rear end, and are positioned normally in the car. )

As compared to a Pro Challenge car).

Would there be enough difference that they couldn't race together? From what I've read, they're allowing Pro Challenge cars alongside the Cup Lite cars at some big race down south in the next couple of weeks....

Well, I guess Delaware didn't get MAARA as part of the APC 300 weekend after all...

you're right. Looks like Delaware is gone from the latest MAARA schedule with a big money race at Lake Erie and the ROC LM race at Oswego added to the schedule. (per www.raceny.com)

That's fine.

Go to the MAARA site and look up the race-by-ace points from last year. See how many guys actually travelled from track to track.

I'll save you the effort: About 5 or 6.

We're not missing a whole lot there.
