Pete needs to be racing (anything) to get better. Sitting on the sidelines is going to hurt any young driver. He's competing against experience. Some of his results don't show how well he has raced at times. You're not comparing the #6 truck results to that of Mark Martin are you? Hardly a fair comparison. I just think Pete needs to be racing something.

racenut, I am a huge Pete Shepherd fan, but Pete needs to start delivering. He was given ample opportunity last year, with not so good results, even in the #6 truck. He really needs to step up to the plate, and drive the crap out of whatever he is driving. 15th last night is not a strong finish again, considering the other Roush Fenway trucks were 1st and ninth. I hope at the next race he is in, he does very well, but Danny O'Quinn is next I believe and I hope he does not have better runs than Pete or it could be then end, I believe.
Lets hope not.

Petey finished 15th. I think Pete should consider absolving his Roush relationship if he isn't successful in obtaining the #50 Truck Series ride. What is his contract status? He should be racing somewhere and gaining experience and seat time. Jack has shown that he has limited loyalties to his drivers. If you bring sponsorship money with you, then you get a ride (T.J. Bell), if you don't (Danny O'Quinn), then no ride. I think Petey would have been racing if the Griddly Headz fiasco hadn't occurred. Jack was prepared to shut down the #99 Cup team with Jeff Burton when they couldn't secure a sponsor. Burton left for RCR. Fortunately for Jack, Carl Edwards came on the scene. It looked very promising in the beginning, but the way that it's been playing out, this Roush deal isn't doing young Pete any good. IMO.

Awesome stuff!
I wish Petey well, not only does he have to race the competition on the track but also the competition from within!
He looked like he could have pulled off a top ten last weekend, had it not been for problems with the truck and it would be great to see him finish in the top ten this weekend! We all know Pete's the man for the truck next season!

I thought this was interesting. Go get 'em Pete!!
CONCORD, N.C. -- As Roush Fenway Racing makes plans for the 2008 Craftsman Truck Series, the team has decided to showcase some of its young driving talent in several upcoming Craftsman Truck Series races. The No. 50 truck will serve as the test truck, with a few different drivers slated to make starts for the remainder of the 2007 season.
"We have a talented pool of young drivers at Roush Fenway Racing," team owner Jack Roush said. "Peter Shepherd and Danny O'Quinn have been impressive, and T.J. Bell has shown great promise as well. We're going to give these guys an opportunity to show what they can do, and we'll make a decision as far as who we're going to put in our trucks for 2008 based off of that."
Shepherd made his first start of the 2007 season at Milwaukee last week, and is scheduled to race the No. 50 at Memphis Motorsports Park this weekend and Kentucky Speedway next month. O'Quinn will make the first Craftsman Truck Series start of his career at O'Reilly Raceway Park in July. Bell will return to the seat of the No. 50 truck at Nashville, with additional races later in the season.
The complete schedule of drivers and their races will be released at a later date.
