Unfinished business for Micks at Trois-Rivières

“It should be a good weekend if the driver stays on his game.”

MT. ALBERT, ONTARIO (August 14, 2007) – In 2006, Kerry Micks, driver of the Beyond Digital Imaging Ford Taurus, set fast time and sat on the pole for the Grand-Prix de Trois-Rivières. He would like to at least repeat these efforts for this year’s race, along with getting into the winner’s circle.

“We had one fast race car in Trois-Rivières last year, and our plan is to repeat that part of the scenario,” explained Micks. “Hopefully our day will end on a better note that last year’s.”

Unfortunately, after leading the first few laps, Micks had to retire his entry due to an engine problem and finished a disappointing 24th.

The former CASCAR Super Series champion currently sits in seventh position in the Top 10 Driver Points in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.

“A couple of weeks ago we secured our first NASCAR Canadian Tire Series victory in Montreal,” added Micks. “That’s helped our team’s confidence going into the road course race this weekend.”

This the eighth event in the 12-race NASCAR Canadian Tire Series is the final road course races on the series schedule in 2007.

“Knock on wood, our AP Racing Engines program has been great, I’ve got a great team, a dedicated major sponsor in Beyond Digital Imaging, and good associate sponsors behind me. It should be a good weekend if the driver stays on his game.”

The Grand-Prix de Trois-Rivières in Trois-Rivières, Quebec on the 10-turn 1.521-mile temporary street circuit will be race eight in the 12-race NASCAR Canadian Tire Series on August 17-19.
