Please don't quote me on this one Ross, I drive a Mini stock, but a friend works on a thunder and I think he said something about the final drive having to be around a 6.13 or 6.50. I know a big difference! ??? I'm not 100% sure.  When do you need to know by?  I'll try and find out for you!

But I will say this, in my Mini-stock(and not a top one) I am hitting about 80mph at the end of the straights.  Might help you out!

we run a 6.80 final, and turn 6400 at the end of the straight, if you run second with a three speed you can run 4.56 or 3.73 with a glide

You've been up to Capital City Speedway?

Aren't you are Barrie car? We are talking about Capital City here. Myabe my mistake just want to make sure...

2.73 x 2.52 1st gear gets me a 6.9, so that should work... If you are talking Capital City..

Bake, yeah if you don't see the answer on here, I would really appreciate if you could find out for me. 6.13 to 6.50 is a big diff, especially if I am thinking of running 6.9... 6.13 would be a 2.44 rear in 1st, with the th350.

Yup, 6.13 to 6.50 is huge difference.  I'll see what I can't find out for you.

But the track is a "paper-clip" type 3/8 mile. small tight corners, long straights.  I'll send a couple e-mails to some friends and let you know!

coming up next weekend ;D???

Always up for a hand, I'd be happy for you to make the trip with me ;)

Its my understanding they are paying double. I'm looking to cover my gas with that. Drive up in the morning and back at night to save the motel costs.

All comes down to gear....

Hey Ross

We ran a 3.23 gear with a 1.82 glide at Ottawa (about a 5.90 final) (6100 to 6200 rpm).

We might run a 3.42 this time. (6.20 final)  (6500 rpm???)

a t350 in 2nd gear with a 3.73 should be around a 5.60 final

Andy,

You told me the gear at the track, I did remeber ;) Heard so many different things, seems this is one track there isn't one pefect gear for.

3.73 with TH350 in second is sounds a bit tall. Right now I'm leaning for the 2.42 in 1st... 6.10 final.

Now part 2... If I use the 2.42 ripping apart my 2.73 housing to do it, will that work for Peterborough?

Hey Ross

a 6.10 final should work fine at Ottawa.
Just be careful running a t350 in 1st gear.
It can be hard on the tranny unless you know it is a strong trans.

At peterborough run around a 6.70 final.
