Heard some radio ads for the race on a couple of different stations but saw no ads in the local papers. It's a scratch my back, I'll scratch yours mentality. Maybe some coverage would be done if there was advertising in the papers!!!!
Give some fans credit-they know the place is worn out. Posted by: jworacing« on: June 30, 2008, 01:03:43 PM »Well I bought 16 tickets I must be a good fan

Allgaier wins Cayuga ARCA RE/MAX 250 International Herald Tribune - France http://www.iht.com/articles/ap/2008/06/29/sports/CAR-ARCA.php Posted by: jcrashm2« on: June 29, 2008, 09:15:27 PM »I know a bunch of my friends that went to Varney because they had Saturdays rainout plus Sundays show with all invitationals, train races and a van/couch race....and they called me too say the weather is gorgeous there.
I went to Cayuga only because I've always said if they run a show on Sunday I would go...so I stuck to my guns and went....and I wasnt disappointed, it was a great race...the top half of the stands were pretty full I thought, which was the most I've seen since the Nascar show...the weather was pretty iffy...alot of people cash strapped the last few weeks with graduations, kids school trips...plus with the holiday on Tuesday and it being the first weekend off school for some, alot of people took off for a 4 day holiday...and ya no advertising. Maybe the media guys didnt know about it either? LOL. If you want more media coverage, send off an email to the newspaper, radio station or tv station of your choice. I do too the Hamilton Spectator all the time. I even cancelled my subscription. Nothing ever changes, but it gets a great frustration reliever....and if enough did it....they might change. Oh and great run by Pete. finishing 5th..thought Stenhouse had all the bases covered for those last 50 laps, but nope....and Speed was the fastest when he was laps down, and after making up 4 to get on the lead lap, his car was so trashed he had nothing at the end for the top runners...Kimmel exiting pit lane, dumped his car thru the grass and a mud hole to get back on the track, avoiding a car coming the wrong way...lol. Posted by: too_cool_joe« on: June 29, 2008, 08:43:39 PM »Excellent race. I talked to Kimmel and a few other drivers Saturday after qualifying and all agreed that a full repaving on the track surface needs to occur along with better blending of the race surface in the transitions in a out of the corners...
I overheard track officials were dissappointed with the crowd and turn this one back on poor advertising. Let someone take over the track who knows how to run the show and put the dollars into the racing surface, pave the whole infield (get rid of all the grass, pond, etc), add lots more banking into the corners, pave the haulers parking lot... I hope that doesn't prevent them from coming back next year. I don't know why they didn't advertise more. I've seen bigger crowds friday nights at delaware. The rain spoiled the on track autograph session but other than that you could not ask for a better day.

Posted by: racerfan44« on: June 29, 2008, 06:42:30 PM »Great race big field(33 cars ).Second best stock car racing group behind NASCAR and what type of press do they get here (Canada) hardly any as I watched sport stations (TSN,SPORTS NET,tv station
Kitchener,London Hamilton ) and the only regognition was from Hamilton and that was showing the top 5 names on the screen. No hilite film etc.People wonder why crowds are not big well when there is no advertising done to say these big auto racing groups are coming (ARCA) Etc.Hate to say if you donot advertise thecrowds you get will not be big.I hope ARCA comes back as this is good racing and as far as I am concerned it is better than the NCTS which has a hard time getting more than 23 cars on an oval track. This is just my opinion. Posted by: northernracer11« on: June 29, 2008, 05:40:12 PM »Great result for Pete Shepherd. Hopefully it helps him get more sponsorship and rides
