A NASCAR feeder series, bigger rewards
and new race formats…

2013 welcomes fresh initiatives!

BLOIS, France – As it strives to become ever stronger and cement its position among Europe’s leading championships, the EURO-RACECAR NASCAR Touring Series will increase its efforts to help drivers and teams in 2013. An improved route to NASCAR for Europeancompetitors, new race formats and an impressive list of prizes are set to make the new season EURO-RACECAR’s best to date.

A NASCAR FEEDER SERIES IN EUROPE

Since its inception in 2009, the series has given its champion the chance to compete in a US-based NASCAR event. Assuch, 2012 title-winner Ander Vilarino will contest next February’s UNOH Battle at the Beach, which acts as a curtain raiser for the Daytona 500. In2013, EURO-RACECAR will go a step further by offering the Elite Division champion a €50,000 budget to compete in the 2014 NASCAR K&N Pro Series, while the winner of the Junior Trophy will be offered €10,000 towards contesting a NASCAR race. As was the case this year, the top performers from each championship and class will also be honoured at the NASCAR Touring Series Week of Champions in Charlotte, North Carolina (USA).

TWO DISTINCT CHAMPIONSHIPS MEAN EVEN MORE ACTION

To provide maximum entertainment for both fans and drivers, the series will run four races per meeting in 2013 with competitors split into two distinct classes: the Elite Championship for experienced professionals and the Open Championship for amateurs and young talent. Each division will run its own practice sessions, qualifying and two 30-minute races, giving drivers more than two hours of track time during the weekend. Competitors will race in separate championships but share their cars and costs. This provides the opportunity to compete in an FIA-recognised international NASCAR series for less than the price of a national junior championship. Spectators meanwhile will be treated to four intense races during the course of one event.

INCREDIBLE REWARDS

The EURO-RACECAR NASCAR Touring Series will further reward drivers and teams next season with one of the biggest prize funds in European motorsport. Nearly €200,000 is up for grabs for the winners and star performers of each championship and class, with a total of €10,000 distributed at each meeting. In addition to this, the season's blue riband event at Tours Speedway will see the top-10 in each race rewarded, with a total of €22,000 on offer.

NASCAR RULES AND PROCEDURES

In addition to its points system and theadoption of the play-offs, further rules and procedures will be added next year that take their lead from those used in NASCAR. Rigorous scrutineering, aradio link between the race director, spotter and driver, safety car procedures, double-file restarts and race decisions made by a three-man panel of stewards will be added in 2013. "All of this will ensure our drivers are fully prepared to race in the United States," explains series organiser Jerome Galpin.

A NEW ENDURANCE CHALLENGE

Fans of endurance racing will relish thechance to see the six-hour EURO-RACECAR event at Motorland Aragon (Spain)

on 1 September, with points scored during the 24 regular Elite and Open division races counting towards the Challenge.
