PRO STOCK TOUR HEADED TO PETTY INTERNATIONAL FOR LUCAS OIL 100

(Halifax, NS, May 31, 2012)The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour is headed to Petty International Raceway this Saturday for the Lucas Oil 100. Saturday’s Lucas Oil 100 is the first of three races to be presented by Lucas Oil this season and marks round two of 12 for the touring series. Over 25 teams from across the Maritimes are expected to be in the field for Saturday evening’s main event which is slated for 6:00 PM.  Advance tickets for the Lucas Oil 100 are on sale now at Ticket Atlantic and will also be available at the gate on race day. Grandstands at Petty open at 3:00 pm; Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials will get underway at 5:10 pm with racing slated for 6:00 pm.

Greg Proude (Springvale, PE) is the current points leader after the first event, edging out CARQUEST 100 winner Craig Slaunwhite (Terence bay, NS). Slaunwhite received 200 points for the win, each position there after drops by two points, Proude finished in third place at the CARQUEST 100 earning him 196 points.  Both drivers picked up five bonus points for leading a lap, Proude picked up an additional five points for leading the most laps, giving him a slight one point advantage over Slaunwhite in the chase for the championship after race one.  Rounding out the top five in points is Rollie MacDonald (Pictou, NS), who had Cassius Clark at the helm for the CARQUEST 100, Mike MacKenzie (Dartmouth, NS) and Mike Stevens (Riverview, NB).

Cassius Clark (Farmington, ME) will make another trip across the border this weekend as he is slated to pilot the No. 13 of Rollie MacDonald at the Lucas Oil 100 on Saturday.

There was a lot of hype surrounding the Exide Batteries rookie crop entering the CARQUEST 100 - and they did not disappoint.  All six rookies took the green flag; Brad Eddy (Sackville, NS), only completed one feature lap after an incident in a Dartmouth Dodge heat race left him with a badly wounded racecar.  Dylan Gosbee (Cornwall, PE) had mechanical issues which forced the No. 91 team to end their day on lap 55.  Frankie Fraser (Shubenacadie, NS) was the highest finishing rookie with a 12th place showing.  All six are expected to continue in one of the toughest rookie battles the series has ever seen this weekend at the Lucas Oil 100.

The Maritime League of Legends, Mister Transmission Mini Stock, and Mini Cup will all race on the undercard prior to the Lucas Oil 100.

Advanced tickets for the Lucas Oil 100 are available at Ticket Atlantic outlets (Atlantic Superstores NS & PE), by phone 902.451.1221 or www.ticketatlantic.com.  Tickets will also be available at the gate on race day (cash only). Admission for the Lucas 100 is $25.00 for adults, $10.00 for youth (8-15 years old); pit admission is $30.00. Children 7 and under are admitted for free.
