The Mohawk Race Parts Pro-Stock and Seaway-Lussier GM Performance Sportsman Series in action this weekend!

Monday, May 12, 2014- Martin Bélanger – Cornwall, Ontario - A busy weekend is coming up for Pro-Stock and Sportsman drivers as the Mohawk Race Parts Pro-Stock Series and the Seaway & Lussier GM Performance Sportsman Series will kick off their 2014 season at different venues.

 

By the end of next weekend, already half of the Mohawk Race Parts Series will be completed as the Pro-Stock drivers are scheduled to visit Autodrome Granby this Friday, May 16, then RPM Speedway the following before travelling to Cornwall Motor Speedway on Sunday, May 18. Defending series champion Stéphane Lebrun will lead a group of drivers that include Rock Aubin, Jocelyn Roy, DIRTcar Pro-Stock champion Dave Bissonette and other invaders to Granby to compete against local competitors such as Stéphane Lemire, Alain Brochu, François Adam, Bruno Cyr, Richard Bertrand and several other.

 

With 3 important races in the 3 nights, the full fender competitor will start their season with a bang with fierce competition at three different tracks.  This series will then head to Mohawk International Raceway for two races on July 11th and then August 15 before closing the championship in Cornwall on August 31st. Fields over 20 cars are expected at each event.

 

The Seaway & Lussier GM Performance Series will have her initial event at Brockville Ontario Speedway this upcoming Saturday with a 40-lap feature race event. In 2013, a total of 37 Sportsman had made their way to Paul Kirkland`s facility to compete in that event that saw Shane Pecore win. The Saint-Andrews, Ontario Star will lead the local stars that include Dylan Evoy, Jon Mills, Jonathan Ferguson, Steve Barber and several others. Last year`s series champion Mathieu Desjardins has committed once again to defend his title and will be joined by several outsiders such as third place finisher Martin Pelletier, Joey Ladouceur, Mathieu Laramée and other strong competitors for the East.

 

Over $10,000 in prize and money will be offered in both Series offered to the top 3 in the point’s standings and also via the 100% participation draws. Be sure to visit one these speedways over the next weekend to see the best drivers in the area compete in these important events!
