I like the Watson Kid  good kid fairly quiet, and drives well,  if he begins to lean more about chassis set-up and the rest of the package (for comunications between crew and driver) he will be dangerous!  he's young and has a decent shot at maybe heading south of the border some time within the next 5 years!!  didn't impress me much in the 4 cyl but is proving he can handle a late model and super late he came from the back to finish 2nd to Hooker @ AC not a bad gig for a kid who's parents have to drive him to the track cause he's not old enough to do it himself!!  if he can keep up to the learning curve he will prove that it is indeed "Elementary my good Watson" sorry I had to do it LOL  all in all good kid with a bright future those who don't support are just jellous in my eyes!!

thanks ladybug.
someone out there gets it.
its how you see thing, behind and infront of that curtian,
that all of you seem to be only in front of,
its where he started 3 seasons ago in a four cylinder,
with a dream to be like his dad,
and look where thats got him,
exactly where his dad is.

For me, I think he's amazing to be running as high in the ranks as he is as that hasn't been done for many kids. But like koda04 said, some ppl will give him less of a credit and hey - we will differ in opinions. All I will say is he's doing an awesome job so far and hopefully he keeps working his way up through the ranks :)

I have to agree with slowel on this one. I agree that Brandon has loads of talent but his age is why we, yes ME INCLUDED, are touting him so highly. His age is the one thing he has over everyone he is racing against now and he is only going to get better. That is the edge he has. I saw him every night at Kawartha and a bit at Delaware and he did really turn my head after a shakey start. He was very patient but knew when to push to get to the front and is very smooth and consistant through the corners. But to be honest he hasn't really done as well as I had hoped in his OSCAAR outings but a bit more seat time should get him the experience he needs to run at the front. And in further defence on slowel let's review. He won a feature at Kawartha, not as many as McHattie or Jackson. He won the Sizzler series of which only a hand full of cars competed at all of the events. Jackson was his only competition and if not for a broken distributor he would have won it. And to boot, that car has the BEST of everything. All this being said the kid is still probably the best up and coming stock car driver in Canada other than Fitzpatrick. And I'm not trying to take anything away from the kid but I can see where slowel is coming from. It's like listening to Waltrip heap the praises of the COT. Lets see if he can win the Kawartha championship next season, and I think he has a shot, before we make him the next Gordon O'neill. I know, most of you are saying WHO ? It's an inside joke with the people who know me. ;D

okay, well same vote as Jim, im used to SO many people bashing him as ive listened to it since the day he went on the track.
he deserves every little bit of credit,
some people like me give him more.
for more than one reason and more than you guys see.
so therefore i appologize for sticking up for him, as he cant himself.
(on the internet)
ive been doing it for him for so long im just used to it,
this thread is ment for updates and how he is doing.
and thats what i do, simple updates, cuz some people like them
in my eyes i see stuff different then some of you.
in my eyes he did an AMAZING job, in yours a FINE job.
i give him that little more bit of credit

Polishprince12 first you question my credibility in racing and I quesion yours and you get all pissy, what's with that? Also you say it's not that he is young but it's his brains and TALENT well then I could name 100's of drivers with brains and talent. It is that he is young with brains and talent that everybody is watching him, just remember I never said he didn't have brains or talent all I said was he did a fine job not a amazing job.How do you come to the conclusion I'm jealous?
if i jumped the gun i apologize! i'm just used to so many people pounding the kid. sorry if i took your post out of context.

Wouldn't the biggest problem for Brandon racing in NCATS be the fact he must be 18 to run in the series or is that not a rule here in Canada?  Cause in my opinion running the OSCAAR series will not help develop his skills.  I like the idea of doing more travelling with the ACT series as there are a number of good teams there that will help him learn patience.

Very True Prince. Even with "Nascar" in Canada it hasn't done alot. The Canadian Tire Series hasnt really seen better days with poor race release times on TSN...I believe some of the races debuted on tv at midnight. You would even go as far to think as the Nascar Canada Access with out good friend Vic would show Canadian Talent and Canadian Racing but it really just pitches a different Nextel Cup driver each week and hocks there terrible merchandise.

unfortunately the being in canada thing has killed alot of opportunities for very talented drivers.........sad!

Mr Polishprince12 I can give credit when it is deserved but I'm not going to give more credit than what is deserved.I didn't take anything away from the kid he did a FINE job not an amazing job.And if you think he did a amazing job it tells me what you know about racing.Koda a couple more laps in that race and the 81 would of won,he was a half second faster than anybody on the track and if he didn't pass them he would of hit them out of the way.HEHE   Remember I like the kid he a good racer.
i don't know about racing ay? whatever pal! there is alot of people who would disagree with you, including myself. but go ahead and think what you like, i sure as hell don't have to prove myself to you. have a great night!

Being 15-16 and not having these traits is a bad thing.....Landon Cassill by age 15 had won track championships in Legends and had won in midgets, go karts and Modifieds and finished in the top 15 in the ASA standings......now the difference between the US and Canada is that those guys race for a living....another one is Andy Seuss out of New Hampshire....this kid at the age of 17 he raced Late Models, 350 Supermodifieds and True Value Sprints....the SuperMod and the Late Model were on the same night.....the kid also now at the age of 20 in one weekend race in the Whelen Modified South Series(which he won) on the Saturday.....flew back to New Hampshire to race his True Value Modified.....so think about that when you say 15-16 is a good age to learn from.
