Thorold, Ontario (July 30) While the countdown continues to the 17th Annual Trevor Wilkens Memorial Monday August 3rd -there will be plenty of action on the track Saturday August 8th when CMH Leasing hosts the third and final Enduro Qualifier accelerated by Niagara College.
Adding to the 5 division Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series line up as well will be the annual Kid’s Club Meridian Credit Union Box Car Races.
More than 30 families will be guests of the “Help a Child Smile” organization will be in the grandstands set to enjoy a night of racing.
“Help a Child Smile” was born in 1986 out of the need to bring some joy into the lives of victims of childhood cancer and their families by providing opportunities to smile and have fun.
“It’s shaping up to be quite a night,” boasts (Merrittville GM) Erica Bicknell, “our 5 stock car divisions … the enduro … and the kid’s races … if there is a night not to miss this season – it’s this one!.”

“Whether they use one of the boxes from the track or their one of their own choice,” adds Club Director Mike Barnett, “we sure get some awesome entries every year … we’ll have 4 age groups and one entry will be picked as best of show!”

In the first two Enduro Qualifiers accelerated by Niagara College, James Mercer (Zavitz Financial Strategies & Employee Benefits Night May 18th) and Jason Coutu (Boltworks Piller’s $1 Hot Dog Night June 27th) each won with the two drivers making up the front row for the 100 that closes the season – Sunday September 13th.
The last Enduro Qualifier that closed the month of June started 60 cars so who knows what the final qualifier will bring!
August 8th’s CMH Leasing Winner will start the 100 from third spot and should either of the Qualifier Winners win the 100 - Niagara College has accelerated their Victory by $500.
Whoever the winner is – that driver stands to earn $10,000 US from their guaranteed 8th starting spot this November in an Enduro at the Black Rock Speedway in Dundee, NY.
“Niagara College continues to be # 1 in student satisfaction,” boasts (Merrittville Speedway GM) Erica Bicknell, adding, “and we are thrilled they are accelerating our Enduros.”
Should none of the three drivers come home #1 in the big event – the $500 will still be given away via a draw of starting positions.
“Preregistering now takes on a whole new meaning,” reveals Bicknell, “anyone that enters by September 1st – will be eligible for a chance at one of four $50 bonuses.”

“Our Enduros attract all kinds,” relates (GM) Erica Bicknell, “ drivers with no experience … some that have run this type of event before and even some of our regular Saturday Night competitors … but in the end it’s more survival than experience that counts.”
