just to be clear from my end, i was not blaming steve at all . i saw the shocked look on his face when they called his name. he's a good guy and barrie is a great place. i'm glad barrie is looking after mitch, but when something happens and nobody is told what the hell is going on people get defensive,we have to stick together.

Your welcome, I just think we should celebrate their accomplishments, it was a great season, the charger division, was one of the best things to immerge out of BSW, a great place for new drivers, regardless of age to get a good start in this sport. I hope it will bring on board a whole new bread of drivers for next year... We have the best drivers around, and we are bringing in the next generation of drivers that will no doubt become some of the best.....
Lets hear for all BSW drivers, they gave us an awesome year.....
It wasn't nascar that gave us that it was the drivers

Not going to disspute your claim Bigdog, I only put that up because of those complaints against my son for getting Nascar's award for third, anything other should be disscused between Nascar and BSW, Like myself I'm sure you recieved your rule book before the season started, So I am asumming if all had read it then those dispute's should have been discussed at the begining of the year, not waiting till something dosent smell right to find out the in's and out's of whats going on, IMO it's up to the individule to make them selves aware of what there getting into before hand, and yes I know you had to pay before getting the book.

Hey guys lets let Nascar and Barrie Speedway work out the problem, give them a chance to address this, or maybe at the drivers meeting this is where this should be addressed, by the drivers with BSW and Nascar. Lets celebrate the accomplishments of our drivers on this thread, we have a lot to be proud of at BSW, we have some of the best drivers around, just my opinion.

Just for those who havent read the 2007 Nascar rule book,

Page 10, section 3-4 Minors
(Quote)
If the applicant is a minor under the laws of his/her state of residence, the applicant must also submit, with his/her application, a fully executed and signed Minor's Release. This Minor's Release must be signed by the applicant, as well as the applicant's natural father or mother, or by a court-appointed leagal guardian. As with all applications NASCAR may, but is not required to, approve the application of any applicant under 21 years of age.

Page 11, section 3-6 Minimum Driver License Requirements
(Quote)
To secure and maintain a NASCAR Competitor Lincense as a driver, A NASCAR Member at a minimum must:
  (1) Be at least 16 years of age.
and so on.....

Regardless, Mitch will have his third place standing, for which in my opinion, he can be very proud of accomplishment. Maybe next year, he will have first place, he will be reconized at the track as third place in the chargers division, who cares if nascar reconizes him or not, we know how well he did, and we are all very proud of him at his home track of BSW. Way to go Mitch.

everyone should read the rule book you got with your license it does state age regulations no driver under the age of 16 will qualify for nascar standings. That does not mean they do not qualify for bsw standings. Nascar and BSW have done nothing wrong imo everyone should have read the rule book before hand and understood it. This is just my opinion thanks

this thread WILL NOT turn into a bash steve thread. points to ponder did nascar screw up by taking mitchs money -YES. did steve do anything wrong accepting third place or by his post here-NO-read them carefully with out malice, do not look for something to beat over the head. does nascar and barrie did to do something-YES- but give them time to do something if it does not get cleared up for next year at least then start yellin. last point does nascars rule book say anything about age-?- if it does then mitch and his team have to share some of the blame, we as racers should know the rule we race under, the excuse i did not know is weak.

If you felt so bad for him, why did you accept the 3rd place - you could have told them that you finished in 4th and left it at that. I am not trying to start and arguement here and I don't want everyone to jump of Steve. I am just simply asking a question

I say lets quit pickin on Steeve, He did'nt do anything wrong in my books, Mitch will get his stuff from BSW just not from Nascar, Mitch and his dad need to aproach the track and disscuss this with them, and Nascar should reimburse his money, they never should have taken his money in the first place if he was too young, this issue needs to be left to BSW and Nascar..
