Eric Yorke Scores Runner-Up Finish at Sunset Speedway
Running up front throughout the feature, Eric Yorke posted a runner-up finish on Saturday night at Sunset Speedway.
The DY Racing driver was quick from the start, winning the first heat, followed by a fourth-place finish in the second qualifier.
Starting ninth in the feature, Yorke began to move up immediately as he ran third as of Lap 5. He would fall back to fourth, though, six laps later. However, he wasn’t going to stay there for a long as he got alongside Pat MacDonald for third with 10 laps to go, completing the pass easily. He would then pass early race leader Josh Bullen on Lap 18 to move into the runner-up spot.
Through the final seven laps, Eric Yorke tried to work his way through for the top spot, but was unable to catch race winner Daniel Montanari, settling for a second-place finish.
Notably entering the night, Yorke led the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series Division III standings by just three points. NASCAR Home Tracks typically updates them on the Thursday of each week with the prior weekend’s results.
Yorke and DY Racing are proud to be supported by Can-Alignment Motorsports, Solex Steel, Partimer Signs, Skytec Rentals, Budget Tire, Scentsy Consultant – Lisa DeLeeuw, and Cabral Racing Promotions.
