I think that it is a bad idea...the 16 valves at sunset totally dominate the class besides a few other cars..the 12 valave cars are already some of the fastest on the track at barrie..and when those guys slap a 16 into them they are just going to be even faster..the new race director seemed to be oblivious of the whole situation and in my opinion does not have near information to make a decision about that..the topic couldnt even be discussed because one of the new owners was pushing everything ahead and didnt seem to care about the idea..if a new rule like that is going to be implemented it needs to be announced at least a year of head of time to give people time to make makes changes..all in all the drivers meeting didnt accomplish much

Ya i know what you mean, 16 valve took over sunset, but look at our track, its dominated by mustangs (till this year) and they are mostly all very fast. I do think that it would be a better idea for maybe next year though because by the time they let us know it wouldnt be much time to get one ready for this year.

so did they say they are allowing them?  if they said they "may" allow them, when did they say they'll decide?

were there any big changes to the ministock rules at barrie that were announced at the meeting?

faulkens are allowed at sunset now for the 4 cyl....there was a vote for them 3/4 were in favor...

no they did not say they were allowing them...we couldnt even talk about it because the new owner didnt really seem to give a crap so the topic just ended..and the discussion went no further..and the new race director didnt see how 16 valves had an advantage over 12...he may have alot of experience but that doesnt seem to say much...also they didnt make any new changes, they said they will in the following weeks after taking peoples opinions..which they didnt do very well

I say leave it as it is now! trust me, if you allow 16 valves at Sunset, Shawn Monette will win every night. TRust me on that one! So I would suggest to Brandon Crumbie that he run his 12 valve and stop pushing the issue of the 16 valve engines! you will just get beat every night if this happens!

you have to consider, the reason that the Honda 12 valves are tkaing over...the track started teching and cracking down on nteh mustangs...the track still has no idea about hondas...and impo thats the reason hondas are starting to win...stock HP numbers or not...i am no dummy...

How much H.p is that Subaru with 16 valves? and is it single cam? and who ever said i was gunna build a honda 16 valve huh? I was thinking more along the lines of a 944 or maybe a Neon. Hondas 16 valves are good but the motors are too small for a tight track, not enough torque (just my opinion). if they allow 16 valves great if not great i dont care really cause either way im comming back to win the championship next year lol

Oh and BTW if you guys are talking about my 12 valve motor being illegal i will gladly pull it outa the car and you can have it if you like, shredded bottom end bearings and all. Trust me if i was to build a cheater 12 valve you guys wouldnt know what hit you! Trust Me!

16 valve with a weight penalty is a good idea, Barrie is leading in Thunder car with the new gen but lacking in the 4 cyl because its real hard to find 8 or 12 valve cars anymore. The yards are full of 16 valve stuff and they are cheap, people are thinking 8 and 12 valve stuff is collector stuff and they want money for it now.
Maybe 16 valve cars minimum of 2300 lbs and the old rules stay for 8 and 12. Its inevitable 16 valve stuff is coming in so get ready for it.  :o :o :o

The 2.5L 16v single cam suby engine is about 170 hp stock...  and I dont care ether way I've got a good 8v engine so im good to go
