The only way those points would have been in play would've been if Ginn split up into two teams, with Ginn owning the 01 and 14 and someone else owning the 13, and then having Ginn merge with DEI and the "owner" of the 13 merging with whomever (08 team, Furniture Row, etc.). Obviously, that's too much of a hassle for a merger, so that didn't happen...

umm...they cannot be merged again because then GINN would own 5 cars...as he already owns a share of all 4 DEI cars....

so could not the points been sold in another merger or is that a no no. it is really time to either franchise completely(which i hate) or lessen the top 35 to last weeks top ten.

Anyone else read the NASCAR.com story that was on their site a couple weeks ago about the 08 team? VERY fascinating stuff....their crew chief lives and works 1000 miles away fromteh shop...lol...werid, but neat.

Having the Ginn points for the DEI #15 only came about due to the Ginn - DEI merger. Technically, Bobby Ginn is now the owner of the 15, which morphed into the 14 team. In order for the points from the 13 to be used, Ginn would have to be listed as the owner of the car that wanted them. However, since the DEI - Ginn merger put them at the team cap of 4 teams, it could not be done.

does any one know why the owner points of the third ginn car could not have gone to this team at indy? he failed to qualify at indy yet the third car was locked in. some kind of nascar special deal,we will allow the merge but you have to give up one of the owner locks? the more i see these locks the less i like them.
