Enduro change:
Rev limiters removed from crates, if you wanted to remove it.

Bone Stocks:
A lot of talk towards removing obstacle cars, and going with other options.
Emphasis on safety mainly:
  • Properly built cages
  • Proper skid plates on fuel tanks

Another few points were cars with advantages, from factory parts. In a nutshell, if your car is too fast... you can slow it down or go to Enduro provided it meets safety rules. Which brings another point, if you build your car to run both, make sure you mods/de-rated parts are interchangable.

This class is designed for entry level, at a low cost... but still remain safe and fun for all those involved. This is why there was emphasis on power reductions, and keeping speeds down.

We had a few competitors trying to finesse us as to what was legal in this class, when it comes to power. Honestly, nothing is, unless aftermarket... so they were told to build correctly. If they build a rocket machine, they will end up building for Enduro class... because this class was designed for low budget fun. Granted, a lot of cars from factory are fast, and they will be de-tuned or drivers will learn to slow down. Most of these cars are banned at other tracks for that reason. We are bending the standard rules to see what happens, and where it goes. There's nothing wrong with teams building an OK  factory' rocket ship, just not overkill. No headers, or crazy itmes like that. As it was stated, build what you like, you will be flagged, and/or moved to Enduro. Which is not a punishment in my eyes. If you have the ability to build something that quick, you should be proud.

As a side note, 4 and 6 cylinder cars in Enduro are pretty much wide open to the rules. These cars were not Teched hard on anything except safety. Which in my eyes, makes me want to build there. But for most first timers, Bone Stock is probably best for now. Enduro is not a childs' game anymore.

Hey Doug any chance you could repeat on here about properly mounting the skidplates. I only caught part of what you said at the meeting.  thanks

Basically, make a solid skid plate, preferrably something thicker than 22 guage. 16 or so would be preferred, and a good solid mount system. You can make them easily enough, and there's loads of ways to do it. There is no set way, but bolts through the floor, with thick washers/ heck chain systems, anything to make sure you are safe. This is one area, you can make safe cheaply with some thought process. If you need help fabbing an idea, send me a message here. I may be able to come by and take a look at what you have.

If an average size fuel tank could be figured out maybe a welding shop could provide a better price if a bunch of guys bought them? Maybe 10 guage with a bend on each end?

I agree Sid, thicker is better. As for Jim, yes fuel cells are better. But in the grand scheme of costs, it will remain the way it is now. By all means, if you can adapt a fuel cell into your ride... please do.
