Stompin Tom announces departure from Kawartha
« on: July 13, 2009, 09:34:08 PM »
Talk to Stompin Tom yesterday at the sizzler and was really disappointed to find out that he is stepping back from the Friday night racing at Kawartha.  With no secure funding to finish out 2009.  Really disappointing for him and I think for all that compete with him.  He was able to step up and be part of the action every night.

that's sad-I think the track points sheet given out at the ACT race showed him in 3rd place currently

Watching Stompin Tom race was the only reason i made the 2.5 hr drive every fri. to Kawartha. Sad , because i'm sure a lot of race fans feel the same way. Anyways at least its only a 1/2 hour to Sunset on saturdays,we'll still get to watch him race.

Kawartha just wont seem the same without him. Sure was fun watching him race all those late model guys. He is one of the more popular or unpopular drivers depending on who you talk to. Either way he'll certainly be missed. Best of luck at Sunset.
