Just came back from the show. Lots of great looking cars but too much space taken up by dealers IMO. The Delaware guys seem to be truly excited about the upcoming year and they have good reason. Talked with Ron Sheriden for a little bit. He was watching the NCaTS race from Delaware last year on a TV they had set up with a certain look on his face. Asked him if he was reconsidering his decision to get out of the car this year, he hesitated a bit before he answered no, LOL! You can really feel the enthusiasm the Delaware people have for this coming year and it is a bit infectious. Overall though a good way to spend a couple hours on a Saturday. The racing vibe just wasn't there as much this year as with the dedicated racing show last year but I guess that is to be expected. More of a car show even with the race cars. Just my opinion altough it did save me an additional entry fee with both shows combined. Glad I went but still.....
If I figure out how to get the pictures off my new phone then I'll post a few.

BTW did the OSCAAR cars get bigger in the off season?

I made the trip the last 2 years from Nova Scotia for the show but won't be able to make it this year. The first year I went was for the swap meet but it didn't get the turn out they expected and it was canned last year.

We can hope that is the case Tommy.

Just going by what racers have told me.

...and I remember the first CPT show which was in March too.

Having it in March will help to have more cars there on display.  Most guys have their cars in pieces in January.

Or maybe it's because CPT and Delaware no longer have a marketing contract. The current economic climate has everyone reviewing how they spend marketing dollars and thus if Delaware wasn't going to fund / market the CPT show for racing, it makes sense to combine it with another show.

I see that CPT has combined the Racing Experience and the Custom / Classic Car Show into one event in March called the Speed and Custom Car Show. Not sure what I think of this. On the one hand one event, one admission fee (unless they double it). On the other hand no racing show in Jan / Feb. No word yet on personalities or attractions. Will this be a better show because they aren't competing with the Toronto show? Is this a better date for race teams to showcase their cars? Time will tell.
