Since you asked Jason , I will tell you .

I have only seen you run a couple of times but i liked what i saw . You have steady hands and you don't seem to over drive the car . I don't know anything about your crew and you need a very good one to win in your series . You have the talent to be a top 5 but you have the geography thing working against you .

*edit   I did pick a JGR Toyota to win today and the same for tomorrow .

Well sleepy you were only half correct on your prediction since DJ finished 3 laps down, however you were off on the fact he couldn't finish the race.  Does this mean you will give him at least credit for making the effort to run in this series?

Like several people on here you seem to have reading comprehension problems .

While they did very well qualifying i think calling them "giant killers" maybe the biggist exaggeration i have read in some time , DJ has qualified to run with the giants , nothing more .

I know people don't want to hear this but with that car and team i very much doubt a lead lap finish is in the cards . I will be very surprised if they are even running at the end .

Well here is what you posted so where was my comprehension problem??  You said he would not finish on the lead lap which is the only correct part of your prediction.  Otherwise I'd say you were wrong.  Or did you mean something else by your prediction??  It's good to see you are such a positive individual about people working hard for what they get.  You should consider motivational speaking. ;-)

Sleepy needs to go back into hibernation. I think we all new this was going to be a very tough road for DJ. I dont think it takes a genius to figure that one out. Point proven by sleepy's point of view. Support from all of us up here who have raced with him, and who have watched him race is all all he could ask for. Sleepy if you dont have anything positive to say on this matter, I for one would rather you say nothing at all. Thanks in advance.

I thought DJ did alright. Only lost one lap under green. Could have used an early caution or two to work on the car. Finished all the laps and running good at the end.

Nice work making the show that high in the first place, considering where they were in practice all week. A little worse than what I expected (tail end of lead lap to be honest, given experience, equipment and prior track record), but everyone's got to start somewhere. As long as they can keep showing improvent week-to-week, they'll be alright...

I agree DJ did good just getting into it and finishing the race was a bonus. Also you have to remember Sleepy11 has the right to his opinion and that is what they site is about we have to take it with a grain of salt as we are proud of our guy DJ but he can say what he wants we don't have to agree with it but please don't be looking to be on the offense about this.

Everyone lets enjoy the Daytona 500 and also the Extra day off tomorrow.

Evan

His car came from Chip Ganasi so the equipment is good.
He had a steep learning curve that is all.
He ran decent remember this is his first superspeedway race he has never drafted before.
So in a nut shell he ran good he had some problems he had a learning curve and he did really really good.
So stop blaming the equipment and call it like it is A LEARNING CURVE.

OKay kiddies, it appears that all of the crew and DJ's work were for naught.
Yesterday I looked at the standings to see how much money they won at Dayton (somewhere around 45,000$).  Finished 33 was 33 in standings.

Today I go back to look at the standings for some reason, and guess what,  nobody is in 33 position, and DJ is gone.

Could this be the ultimate penalty??

Is it because he's a Canadian?? .............. aha another conspiracy theory

I read this and had to check it out. Its true not only is DJ gone from the standings. The 33 position is gone aswell. it goes from 32 Right to 34! This should put a big wrench into the whole top 35 make the race thing!

he is still listed on the entry list for California and owner points still list the car as 33 place. i also thought that nation series only protected top 30, but i could be wrong.

OK..All is well, DJ is back on points list in 32nd place...possibly some point penalties issued on Tuesday.
If a few of the 'Whackers don't race on Saturday, he could move into the top 30 !!!!
