Tony Stewart wants out of Gibbs Racing. Tony Stewart has asked if Joe Gibbs Racing will let him out of his contract.

Where is Tony going to end up.

Maybe Hendrick will get him? Now that would be a great team JR, Gordon, Johnson and Stewart.

It's been all over Sirius Radio and The Fox Sports Website. The leading rumour at this point has him going to Haas/CNC Racing with an ownership stake. Apparently he still wants to drive Chevy's and this fits the bill. He'll have Hendrick engines and chassis so the equipment should be decent.

Ya i saw it on foxsports.com right after i left that message
funny thing tho, i was on that website for 30+ minutes reading nascar, football and nhl, and never saw anything, came here and left that msg, and was back on fox 5 min later and there it was.. just bad timing i guess

Tony's on live on Sirius right now discussing it. He said that he is weighing his options for the future. He has acknowledged that he has received offers. He has inquired about the possibility of getting out of his contract but has not as of yet asked to do so. He didn't say anything definite but the consensus between the commentators is that "where there's smoke...". He said he's excited about the situation and the interest in him. The Indy 500 is not a factor. Team ownership is of interest to him. A couple of offers have included ownership.

I saw it on TSN ticker earlier today. The NASCAR site didn't mention it when I saw it on TSN first.

See there is another benefit of being a Gordon fan, you won't have to buy another number and redo your collection.

exactly what I was thinking, they keep saying part-owner at Haas/CNC, but I don't see Tony getting into a car that's not gonna be competitive on a regular basics

Stewart could go to Haas, get his part ownership, and have no problem bringing in the right people right away to turn that team around. Remember they do have Hendrick stuff, so its not a matter of the equipment, more a case of the people handling and setting up the cars
