Title: CASCAR 2007 - Who's even going to show up?
Post by: Mobil1fan on November 17, 2006, 05:48:25 PM
Who's coming back next year? From what we've heard (and more importantly, what we haven't heard) who's all coming back? Most of the West guys are done unless something comes out ASAP, the Sportsman guys haven't said a peep about what they're doing, and nobody's announced they'll be stepping up to run full-time. All I've heard is that the Lapcevich brothers and their cousin will be back, and that a bunch of guys *might* be back...

well there seems ot be a lot of people who think it is not boring.. my dad is a die hard dirt fan and made fun of asphalt racing his whole life. he finds nascar kind of boring but he loves cascar now after he went ot a race. tyically every cascar race is exciting more often than not.  watch some of the old videos on the old cascar site. it is still up  http://cascar.ca/multimedia.html

Can anyone tell me if the new NASCAR CTS site is up anywhere. I was told that it is running but when you log on it still says Coming in March 2007. I hope this doesnt take them as long as the Rule Book or the Schedule...or I could be reading it wrong... does it say March 2008 ??

The head office is up and running now,  the computers arrived today.  The past two weekends have been meetings for the officials.  The schedule is to be soon, they are waiting for one more race to sign on.  The rule book is in publication now.

Would that be the Montreal race?

p.s. They're cutting things a little close, aren't they?

Been told schedule is to be released this Friday or Monday.

I believe most of the teams have been told the schedule.  Nascar does not want to release a partial schedule though.  Its their policy.

HUTTERPOWER knows what he/she is talking about   :) It won't be long know boys and girls....NASCAR has it do things their way and that is what I have been trying to tell you all. Everyone in NASCAR is afraid of getting a slap on the wrist if they don't follow suit. They will not go ahead and post a partial schedule.  As I said before they can't do anything until the track owners agree to the race. Some track owners won't commit until they have a title sponsor. People seems so easy to blame Cascar or Nascar. Without a track there is no race.

With NASCAR without all the i's dotted and all the t's crossed.  There have been a few rule changes.

What I don't understand is the hold up. Oh wait yes I do.....and I mean no offence but it is the Montreal race holding things up.

NASCAR CANADIAN TIRE SERIES:
Barrie Speedway has posted its 2007 schedule, including its two NASCAR Canadian Tire Series dates. Same for Cayuga Speedway. Riverside Speedway now has a NCATS logo on its site, but is still listing its mid-September 300-lap race as TBA.

So in reality, track websites have accounted for 11 of the 12 events that NASCAR has said it would put on in 2007. By all accounts, the NASCAR Busch Series race weekend in Montreal is the final domino to fall.

The office is up and running? Just got the computers today?  Don't they make computers every day?  I can't imagine it would take over six months to rent a space and buy a couple computers.

Hey Hutterpower. Do you have an entry list of teams that have signed up so far and if you do can you post them. As well I have heard there is going to be no test day- excluding the DODGE guys who for some reason always have there programs together and it makes you wonder why we run Chevrolet's or Fords, but in any case is a test date going to be available for the rest of us nondodge teams.
By the way this web site has been a saviour while the NASCAR CTS site has been down. I have gotten more information out of this site then I have from our own people. Thanks C.R.O.

I was told the same info as far as Nascas does not release a partial schedule NASCAR is waiting on Montreal to comfirm up. I seem to recall Quecbec holding thing up before. Like I said before....it isn't always CASCAR or in this case NASCAR's fault in the delay....it can be the track owners.

just got this off of nascar .com

NASCAR Canada – Officially titled the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series

The series was officially announced September 2006, following the acquisition of certain assets of the CASCAR Super Series by NASCAR. The series will stage events nationally with a schedule of 12 races throughout Canada from May to October. Many former CASCAR drivers and teams are anticipated to compete in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series.

Like NASCAR Mexico, NASCAR Canada also has a broadcast deal with The Sports Network (TSN) – Canada's sports leader. TSN has a multi-year agreement for exclusive broadcast rights to the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, and will televise all 12 one-hour broadcasts. Each broadcast will include race coverage, driver interviews and special features.

The new NASCAR Canadian Tire Series will bring together some of Canada’s best stock car drivers and teams, and NASCAR plans to build on Canada’s strong and rich motorsports heritage and position itself as one of the leading motorsports markets in the world.

The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series plans to stage races on both ovals and road courses, and as a companion event to other major in-market events, targeting events in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario and Quebec.

Unlike providing basic information with respect to NASCAR Mexico, the NASCAR Canada website will provided in-depth news, driver stats, schedules and more – much like the coverage we offer for the other series covered on this NASCAR Local Racing.com.

Adding the new sites to our lineup is exciting, and we look forward to providing our viewers the best possible information regarding the series and, as always, in a timely manner. The sites are planned to go live April 1.

It sounds like only the franchise teams up here are getting information perhaps this is the northern version of the top 35 scam.

Whoever wins the title this year gets to go to the Showdown at Irwindale, provided they can find a ride....From the sounds of it, it should make for an interesting format...
2007 champions from each of the NASCAR Developmental Series will also be eligible for “protected spots” in the starting lineup. Invitees will include the champions of the NASCAR Grand National Busch East Series, the NASCAR Grand National West Series, the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour, the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, the NASCAR Mexico Series and the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series National Champion.
