Ontario Modifieds Racing Series Adds Some Sizzle to the 2014 Season

The signs are everywhere. Spring has arrived. Warmer weather is just around the corner and so is a new season of action for the Ontario Modifieds Racing Series powered by TORQUE BUILDERS INC. From the final lap of the 2013 campaign, officials have been putting in some long hours to keep this exciting brand of open wheeled racing on the track for a strong future.
A solid promotional effort and excellent brand building opportunities - including participation at the Canadian Motorsports Expo and the Mega Speed Show - helped establish some firm footing, bringing a number of new drivers and teams into the fold. Stirling, Ontario's Randy Hollingsworth - speaking on behalf of the group of series organizers that also includes Rick Warnes and Bill Pickford - says this is an exciting time for asphalt open wheeled racing in the province.
"Working with J.P. Josiasse and his team at Peterborough Speedway, along with John and Frank Casale and the group at Flamboro Speedway has allowed us to put together a strong calendar of events at each track," said Hollingsworth. "Most of our teams have logged some laps at Peterborough in the past, but Flamboro's shows will be unexplored territory for many of the drivers who will be running with the series. That's always an exciting time, as teams work to find a set-up they hope will lead them toward the winner's circle."
The Ontario Modifieds Racing Series has made a few minor changes to their rule book as head into the 2014 schedule and has opted to use Towel City Retreads as their tire of choice, with the main focus of controlling costs and making the series affordable for racers of any budget. Fans can learn more about this year's OMRS campaign when the series has a car included in an upcoming mall display at the end of April on behalf of Peterborough Speedway.
