If anyone is wondering what happened to all the posts below Mids post. I deleted them. Mid was kind enough to share his press release and no one should be bashing this or questioning it.

I could lock press releases as these are ment to inform people of what is going on in the series or what drivers and teams are doing.

While I see your point...this si a message board to discuss racing...this is a racing announcement...while there should be nothing posted below here....isit not proper that we are allowed to talk about this in the OSS section? If not then it looks alot like censorship....

I agree with barrie97ps.  I found this thread interesting and it appeared to be very civil in nature.  Maybe moving the subsequent posts to a new thread would have been appropriate.  GG

yes you can talk about it in the forums that is fine but start on the guy in a press release that is just not right. if you have questions leave a message in the forum that is fine.

maybe I should explain it this way.

How would you like if you released a press release and right under people are taking a shot at you sort of makes the press release look worthless???

Alrighty then. What's the deal with fudging Jesse Ponetello's resume? As far as I've seen, he's never run a ASALM race of any sort in his career...

I have agree the forum has become over-censored by the monitor police. It is Evan's forum to use as he likes and I can understand his desire to clean it up. Some of the discussion particularly among the Barrie & Sunset folk was way out of line.
However, there have been several threads recently including this one that have been censored without any good reason. If you post a press release on a public forum, you invite comments.
This forum isn't fun anymore!

Sorry you feel this way oldbill but I guess people have to understand taking pokes at people isn't fun and you will notice the decline in press releases here this year for that reason of people bashing the poster or the press release.

Monitor Police?? I care lot about the board and there were more bashing posts then the Sunset vs Barrie on here.

We are still trying to work out things we are monitoring and maybe we have made a mistake or two but in most part I have got a lot of people thanking me for cleaning up the site and more people have signed up to the site as they are noticing they can post and not have a personal attack against them.

I will tell you something that happened about 3 months ago we had a serious partner looking to invest in the board and then he started reading the posts and said he didn't want to get involved in a battle field board. This guy has been involved in the racing market for 16+ years and this would have helped the board and most likely taken it to the next level as he had some really good ideas and things he wanted to help us with. So at that point I decided it was time to clean the board up.

We have been running the site for 8 seasons and last season I must admit was bad with all the fights. I had only had to ban one user in 7 years and this season I had to ban and warn a ton of users. I think some good members were banned as they got all tangled up in the way the site was heading.

Please understand we want the site to grow and get to the next level and steps had to be taken. How many years can I run a site where nothing new happens to the site???

This year was great for us and I'm excited with our sponsorship with OSS and maybe there will be some other news coming. I also real need to focus on getting a sponsor that will help pay for the site and somethings I want to do for the site.

What I want to do is offer users there own photo album on-line but we need to get sponsor ship to do this as it will require more hosting bandwidth and storage space plus the program cost.

Everyone will see the changes that happens and yes there will be a little pain in the beginning as we work things out here.

I have got some moderators to help me and this should maybe free up sometime for me to get some stuff done on the site and work on getting some sponsors here as the ads you see on here only pulled in 250.00 for the year and that is just not enough to do what needs to be done here.

Hey now- no fighting people !!
I obviously put the release up in the wrong spot and made an improper statement with regards to one of our Drivers and for that I apologize. We are only trying to keep folks informed on what is happening outside of their world and that is what press releases are designed to do- Keep you informed !!

Just for fact- Pontello was supposed to run ASA and got taken for a ride by another Team that took his money and ran, so my report was not entirely true based on that. Let me rephrase the line. He has driven everything from Vintage Mods to Dirt Sportsman cars.

Happy ???   Good !!!

Once again I apologize if this has thrown you off and in the future I will send all realease to Even so he can place them in the correct location on this site. Thanks

Dave, I wish you and boys the best of fortune in the 2008 racing season. For those that just want to fight ,why don't you people join together and contribute the necessities to open your own website , then you won't have to be scrutinized on this one. Based on the number of incidents already mentioned by Evan, it should attract some new members from this site and others that don't allow personal attacks.  ;D

Like I said before the posts were deleted, Jesse is driven to race, and deserves the chance more than most young hot shot racers do.  Give him some seat time, and he'll figure out how to make that OSS car work and get it to the front.

Jesse and his dad, Marcello, have put a ton on the line for him to race and be noticed, and they've taken some crap, but they still fight for their goal.  Not many guys would pull through the crap that these guys have.

If you don't know the guys, then don't bash them, as they're great people to get along with.

I know the Pontello's. Jesse is the right young man for any race team. He has what it take both in driving skills and personality.  That kid has spunk!

Good luck my friend.
