Cause most dirt tracks can afford to bring them in, not draw fans and they will still make money at year end, unlike most paved track promoters
how so?

Compare the grandstand, from what I have seen most dirt tracks have full grandstands each week, and when they run special event its insane, now compare that to any paved track in the province.

Just imagine with the OSS on the card they'll need portable grandstands to accomodate all the extra fans.

i've eaten dust and mud a few times, had a blast but small crowds but that might just be marketing out here. one can never forget that all our roots run to bootleggers and dirt.

I grew up going to Brighton, then after the family moved ,I became a Barrie and or Sunset regular . A couple of years ago  ,thru my girlfriends family's involvement in dirt racing , I have found myself back at the dirt tracks and throughly enjoying it. As stated on a another thread ,I enjoy most motorsports and will bounce between the two depending on who or what is scheduled and where. I think the OSS on dirt will be an interesting event for sure. I am looking forward to the announcement that a date is confirmed.

From watching both over the last few years I think pavement have better types of shows and in Flamboro's case more cars...but for some reason dirt tracks run their shows more organized and on time...pavement flagmen put up with more b.s. than dirt flagmen, if your dragging out a caution they just drop the green sometimes...and dirt fans will show up at the track no matter the weather as long as its not cancelled, while pavement fans will wait till the last minute to go to the track if they hear about bad weather.....just my observations locally.

wow grew up at brighton,  I miss going up there to get asked yet again if it's gas or diesel and then getting the special bucky greeting.  Place was always packed but I really didn't like the ditch along the back stretch or the two bridges for the pits.
