LONDON, Ont. – June 8, 2017 – Matt Pritiko is making final preparations for the APC United Late Model Series Meineke 100 on Saturday, June 10 at Flamboro Speedway. The London, Ont. driver enters the second-race on the series’ schedule following a second-place finish in the season-opening event at Sunset Speedway on May 27. The strong start has Pritiko excited to get behind the wheel of his Global Warranty No.21 Toyota Camry again.

“I’m looking forward to it,” Pritiko said. “We’ve always had good success at Flamboro and it’s treated us well. We won the Grisdale Triple Crown there two years ago. Generally, when we go there the car works well and we come out in the top-five or we’re going for a win.”

Pritiko’s past success at Flamboro coupled with his runner-up result to begin the 2017 campaign has him beaming with confidence entering the series’ second showdown.

“We were very happy with that second-place finish,” stated Pritiko. “We didn’t really have much left in the end at Sunset because we ran side-by-side with a couple of cars for numerous laps. Going into this race, that’s something we would like to keep to a minimum. The second-place finish does bring us a lot of confidence. We know we have a top-five car. It’s just saving our equipment and getting the car setup for the end of the race.”

Qualifying will be the key to success at Flamboro, Pritiko said. The track’s coarse pavement means it is tough on tires. Pritiko doesn’t want to waste his tires racing to the front, but instead to stay at the front.

“Every race this year the main objective is to be in the top-five in qualifying so you have the opportunity to start on the pole with the dice roll,” Pritiko said. “It will eliminate the chances of getting a wreck coming through the field or wearing your tires that you need at the end of the race.”

A 100-lap race can be challenging to a driver’s focus and at Flamboro it is even more important for a driver to hit his marks, Pritiko explained.

“It is a tight place,” Pritiko said. “If you mess up going into a corner or coming out of the corner, it’s a prime opportunity for not only the guy behind you to pass you, but the whole train to pass you. If you get stuck on the outside, you’ll be riding around burning up your tires.”

After his strong performance in the season opener, Pritiko is excited to host long time sponsor Global Warranty at Saturday’s event as he challenges for his first win of the season and second in the series’ history.

“We’re looking forward to seeing all the Global Warranty fans and suppliers at the track this weekend,” Pritiko said. “Hopefully we can get them another podium finish.”

Qualifying time is 6:00pm with the green flag for the Meineke 100 set for approximately 8:30pm. For additional event information, visit www.apcracingseries.com.
