August 3rd Results
« on: August 04, 2008, 12:23:58 AM »
Long afternoon/night at Peterborough...lotta yellows long intermission, started at 4pm ended at 9:45pm  anyway onto the races.

4-Funs was won by #12 Andy McCann , clean feature few bumps and bangs.... first heat was a mess at the start though...it was a spread out start and they threw the yellow and the 09 just keepth racing and was banging into other cars and I dunno what he was doing..but Bob's reaction from the flag stand was priceless.

MS was won by #41 Tyler Junkin , clean feature again...few bumps and spins but nothing major.

LLM's had an impressive 17 cars...which is a lot for PTBO from the sounds of it lotta Sunset cars  03,47,6,19 ect.   97 from Barrie not sure who eles..but they ran all the "out of town" drivers in there own heat wich was a good idea to not mess with PTBO regulars in points.

2nd heat was wild ....all 5 cars were stuck in a tight pack and they got into a big mess in turn 3 and basically all 5 cars were involved..lol.  everyone was able to come back.

Feature was ALL Walters he started around 14th and was leading by lap 10...and everything looked fine and dandy for the Walters he had a 1/4 track lead with less then 3 to go...then all of a sudden..I looked and there is Walters SPINNING! in turn-3  ..and Connolly was slow on the bottom with a RF flat..I'm not sure if when Walters was lapping her she hit him and got the flat tire..or it went flat just as he was lapping her on the outside and she hit him, and then behind some guys didn't see the yellow I guess and some did...because a bunch of cars ended up side-ways threw the grass ect.

Walters wanted his spot back they wound't give it to him...so he quit and drove to the pits, then I'm not sure what happend..but about a min later a bunch of people and officials all ran towards the pits...not sure if anything happened.

Then finnaly was time for the re-start after a long delay...and turn 1 was a mess..atleast 6-7 guys ended up spinning or in the grass or in the wall....... once again they re-stacked the field  and restarted with a G/W/C  ...and the last lap was a good one... the 55 of Dwayne Fullford was leading and slide up a bit outta 2 ...Donny Hart stuck his nose in there made contact both guys got side-ways but saved the cars and would finish that way.

OSCAAR Feature was won by Jeff Hanley for his 3rd win in a row,

best word for this race was "Revenge" nobody would let anything go,

it started on lap 1 when the 23 got into the 57..and just a few laps later he caught back up and just ran into the back of the 23 causing more problems for himself cutting a tire down and causing a yellow.

Now skip ahead a bit later gettting close to half-way I would say 70,88,22 were pulling ahead..and the 7,49 were battling..and then Rob just RAN IT into turn 3..nailed the 7 ....Derrick spun around and hit the wall hard.  The officals must have talked it over and then made the decision to DQ  Clark and send him to the trailer, not sure I agree with the call but also don't disagree ...beacuse Clark really ran it hard into turn-3 not sure what he was thinking...but then again it's a tight track and accidents happen.

Then one of the crazit things I ever seen...as the 23 of Milligan littlary climbed the wall on the back stretch...and I mean he was WAY up there..like if the car ended up getting stuck on it's side or fliped I wound't have been surprised..but the car came back down and he continued on with NO PROBLEMS!  not even a flat tire or nothing and he only lost like about 2 spots.

anyway skip ahead a bit further...the 22 hits off the 88 goes trew the grass comes back up and then just dives it into turn 3 and spins the 7T...well just after we go back to green the 22 passes the 7T and then heading into 3 ..Dunford gets his payback as he spins the 22 and ends up in the wall himself.  ends up needing to be towed off..but got the BlackFlag on the way off..so officaly he should be down as a DQ as well.

skip ahead closer to the end...heading into turn-3 the 20 spins the 52..well re-start G/W/C ....and on the last lap..you guessed it heading into turn-3 20 trys to pass the 52 on the outside and Gordon turns right and spins him...Chenoweth was not happy and he went right over to the 52 to exchange some greetings. So I would assume the 52 is going to go down as a DQ as well...but un sure as that happened after the checkers already flew to Hanley.

top-3 was 70-Hanley,88-Woolsey,27-Passer with a great run coming home 3rd.

18 SLM's started..I think 10 or 11 finished.  03 started on the pole and lead for a bit but had some kind of issue. 03,23,2,7 all DNF  & 49,7T(52?)DQ

Overall was a pretty entertaining night..took a bit to long OSCAAR race got annoying for a wile way to many yellows, but it's just the nature of the beast so to say....cars are so fast and everyone wants the bottom and if you see a whole you gotta go for it..hence why so many spins...it's a short turn around week for OSCAAR and come Friday..I'm sure there will be a few guys missing and maybe some ongoing feuds between some guys...we shall see what happens!

The day I see  AMANDA's car spun out I will jump up and clap ! Count on it . I'm glad Tommy pulled his car from the race , he doesn't need the b.s.  ! Connelly should ask herself why she still wants to drive a race car ? I'd ban her as _ from competition in Ontario just to set an example .

Good write up 3 wide very informative. It was a great night of racing in all divisions the Oscaar ended up as survival of the fittest but it was pretty exciting,in my opinion Connelly parked Walters and cut her tire doing it apparently some ptbo officials said they heard her spotter Kelly Balsam telling her to park Walters as he was about to put her several laps down,COC Violation - No warning given before new warning system came into affectand now l know why many racers have such a low opinion of them.

Not that l could see it was a clean fast paced race up to that point,Maybe because Walters was truly putting on a clinic,it was a very dangerous thing that she did who knows, who cares trash is trash.

Truth is for many years they have represented everything that is bad about racing and accordingly bounced around every track like a cheap Ho,Allan you said trash. COC Violation - No warning given before new warning system was in affect Its true its true.

I can't tell you why #16 would run into #47 or why her spotter would tell her to do such a thing. I do know that the #16 is not a race car, the person who drives it is not a race driver and it is not a race team! If she didn't mean  to do it she would have been claiming inocence! I just hope that the speedway kicks her "team" out of the speedway and they might have to go somewhere else like Kawartha, Mosport, Sunset, or Barrie, Oh no wait a min she has already been kicked out, banned or scared to go to any of those places!  This is just my opinon of what I saw! Class act #16! Go get you a whopper

First off I did not see the actual contact between Connelly and Walters so can't give my opinion on whether it was deliberate or not but this I know.  At the very beginning when they were lining up the cars for the LLM feature Connelly was trying to let the "X" car line up in the proper spot.  For some reason "X" chose to stay where he was lined up so her spotter did tell her to dump him the first chance she got if need be.  The other member of the team that was sitting with her spotter was like dude calm down!!!.  As for the malee of cars stacking up after the intial spin of Walters I'm actually thinking there was more then a cut tire involved for Amanda as there was kitty litter put on the track in the area of the spin.  So maybe the tire when down prior to Tom trying to pass her and a line got cut in the process.  I'd like to know why the spotter for Walters didn't tell Tom to back it down for a lap as his lead was monsterous until they knew what was going on with Amanda's car first since after she came back on the track from fixing her first flat she made a charge to gain spots and then all of a sudden backed it way down and was losing spots every lap.  Maybe if the spotter did this Tom would have won the feature as he desereved.  But did he or the team need to go after Amanda or her team in the pits I'll say no.  I heard on my scanner that they were still dealing with Tom as the OSCAAR feature was supposed to start so they actually delayed the start so JP could get onto the track for the introductions.

As for the OSCAAR feature it was actually looking like a decent feature until all the dumb dumb moves started happening.  It will be interesting to see how many Dq's come from it as I heard on the scanner from race control that if any driver came after an official to complain about the race they would be instantly Dq'd.  Each driver was being warned by race control at the end of the race to avoid this if they knew what was good as the race director was embarassed for the show put on in the feature.  He got to one point in the feature and said guys we just have to get the final 12 laps in as the race is taking way to long to complete.  Apparently someone from Clarke's team was removed from the premises due to their actions after he was blackflagged.  And the team continued to complain during the entire feature on how other cars should be treated for causing accidents.  I'm sure we'll see some revenge payments this week at Kawartha just hope the race doesn't take as long to complete as that was just wrong!!!

Guess it's hard to claim your innocence when you're running to the truck to hide!  You wanna play with the boys? You need the character to back it up.  No wonder there's so little respect coming your way #16...no wonder!  What a performance of class that was ... bravo!  If anyone had any doubts...... lol
