They may accept the money. They may even put a CRO sticker on the car but it is naive to think that a few hundred (or even thousand) bucks raised by CRO members is going to make any difference regarding how many races JR or DJ run.
The numbers I recall from a few years ago is that it costs $75,000 to do a truck series race, $150,000 to do a Nationwide series race.

I think the topic title was wrong.( I changed the title.) What we are doing is showing spport for them. So if it pays for a meal or something else it doesn't come outof their pockets.

We never thought we could raise 25,000 to 300,000 the numbers being thrown around. The idea was to see what we could do and maybe a sponsor would catch wind of it and sponsor them.

That is all that it was ment to be and as I stated before it was never for a sticker on the truck.

Sorry but I agree with ernie.
When you donate items for auction you donate the whole value.
Heck I have 2 used JMC brake lathes that I would sell and give 50 percent, and an old stereo and a desk, and a bar fridge, and.......and....."garage sale for R.J and D.J."
This needs to be planned out better. And wait till you hear back from either drivers team first.

I want to thank Evan for changing the heading of this. I don't know why but I was getting an uneasy feeling that this was getting out of hand. Hence my post at 2am.

Now perhaps when I approached Evan about this idea our enthusiasum got the best of both of us and thing took off too quickly as I don't think either of us communicated our goals properly, at least I don't think I did. The reason I say this is because this topic is approaching 500 over 600 reads and we still have the original $ total.

If I had it to do again I think I would have just posted a topic or poll to see where the mood of the members at CRO was. I don't think it is too late to start again and my money is already in for this or track champ so here is what I propose to move forward.

1) Delete this post.
2) Wait until TRG gets back to Evan on what if anything we as fans might be able to do for JR. Maybe contact DJ also.
3) Once we have that info then if we think we can do something then start a new topic with a poll which has options that the teams have put forward.
4) take the feedback from CRO members and move forward or stop and say we tried and we had good intentions.

Evan I know I got you into this so firstly I would like to apologize. I meant well but I think I jumped in too soon and took you with me. Secondly what are your thoughts before this gets deleted if that is what we decide to do?
Also anyone else?

Ernie no need to apologize, I thought it was a great idea showing our support and there is nothing wrong with us supporting our Canadian driver in Nascar.

I guess you never know what people reactions are going to be. I thought a long time ago to have some type of lottery to support drivers on here like local drivers without sponsors. Not sure why I never posted the idea or maybe I thought it would get shot down.

This was a good thing and we never ment to hurt or affend anyone one or leave people out. I guess we are excited to see him do so well in his first race and want to see him do well and there is nothing wrong with that.

Lets see how others have to say.

Evan
