Ranger Makes It Two-For-Two

Second K&N Pro Series Road Course Win Of 2010

LAKEVILLE, Conn. (July 3, 2010) – Picking up where he left off at Infineon Raceway two weeks ago, Andrew Ranger returned to Victory Lane on a road course, this time in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race at Lime Rock Park.

Race leader Cole Whitt ran off the course after contact with Ranger on Lap 52 of the 66-circuit event. Ranger assumed the lead and gradually drove away, beating Whitt to the checkered flag by 5.899 seconds.

Teammates Max Gresham and Brett Moffitt finished third and fourth, respectively. Points leader Ryan Truex finished fifth. He led eight laps before sliding off the course and through the dirt in Turn 1 on a Lap 45 restart and lost 11 spots. He worked his way back through the field but ran out of time as the race didn't have another yellow flag.

Darrell Wallace Jr. was sixth, followed by Eddie MacDonald, Jeff Anton, Miguel Paludo and Sergio Pena.

Truex maintained his points lead by 43 points (981-938) over Wallace. Moffitt is third at 891, while Gresham and Whitt round out the top five.

Ranger won the Coors Light Pole Award Friday and led a race-high 29 laps Saturday in his fourth NASCAR K&N Pro Series East race in the No. 35 Waste Management Recycling Chevrolet. A two-time NASCAR Canadian Tire Series presented by Mobil 1 champion, Ranger also drove to the victory in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West event in Sonoma, Calif., on June 19. That win earned Ranger a secured starting spot in the postseason NASCAR Toyota All-Star Showdown.

Immediately after the Lime Rock race, Ranger left the track in an effort to catch a flight to Quebec and start the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series race at Autodrome St. Eustache. That event is scheduled to take the green flag at 8 p.m. ET

The K&N 100 will air on SPEED on Thursday, July 8 at 6 p.m. ET.

The NASCAR K&N Pro Series East will return to the track on Friday, July 30 at Lee (N.H.) USA Speedway.
