By Ashley McCubbin - Nicole Podewils would work her way through the field to come home with a fourth place feature finish for her third top five finish of 2012.

In the first heat, the Barrie, Ontario native would lead early, though came home with a second place finish behind James Low. She’d back that up with another second place finish in her second heat.

When it came time for the feature, Podewils would narrowly escape a wreck on lap two to have her No. 79 Fox’s Bakery and Deli, Central Appliance, Barrie ChemDry and Permatex Mustang running in the eighth position.

On the restart, Podewils would continue to race hard, cracking the top six with 10 laps to go on lap 15. She would pass Dan Britt for fifth on lap 21, followed by a pass on Gehrig Haliday on the white flag lap for fourth.

The defending mini stock champion isn’t in the points hunt this year as she is running a part-time schedule.

Thanks to the fans for their support and for coming out during Fan Appreciation festivities to get an autograph. We welcome you to join us once again at Sunset Speedway this Saturday night for another fun night of racing.
