We only raced part time in OSS in '07 and the little bit that we dealt with Dave was very postive. He'll be a great asset.

best thing he could do for the series is mend the fences with CRO.....he won't find this exposure anywhere for the price of some stickers...

A freind of mine is going to run in that series this year, and he says he thinks its a great racing series.
I will let everyone know his number when he is assigned one as he just purchased the car.
I  know we have talked with several memebers from that series and they all seem so nice.
We cant wait.

Here is the announcement about Dave Connelly new role in the OSS

The Ontario Sportsman Series is pleased to announce Dave Connelly as the new 2008 Ontario Sportsman Series Director.  Dave comes with past experience in racing organizations in both the Winnipeg Sports Car Club as the Marketing Director as well as the Ontario based Formula 1200 Drivers Association as both the Marketing Director and the Vice President of the Series.

Unfortunately John Alguire had to step down due to increased demands on his time from his business.  John will still be trackside throughout the year and fully expects to have at least one of his cars competing in the series throughout the summer.

"I'm excited about my new role" stated Dave.  "I don't see alot of changes happening - Dave Didero and I have been working hard this fall getting the schedule sorted as well as new and existing sponsors re-signed for the 2008 season.  Dave Alexander has been doing a great job getting all of the race day logistics taken care of and we've still got Ron Lethbridge's expertise to count on.  Cindy will continue to handle all of our financial matters which will make our lives alot smoother as we get closer to the race season".

Ok I'm lost, what is uncalled for in this thread?  It appears to me that there was information provided on here about a new addition to the OSS series and I don't recall seeing any bashing.  It actually sounds like some positive feedback from those that have posted so far.  Hopefully this is one of the first of the baby steps to getting all racing series in Canada stronger this upcoming season.

K my bad, I guess looking at a thread at 4am doesn't always help.  Just wish the racing season would start this weekend instead of like 3 months from now.  Man I need to smell some good racing fuel or burning tires.

Someone asked where my Boyfreind bought the oss car. I asked him and he told me I can only talk abit on this site, but  I am never to put his name on here because of some fall out that happened with this site and the oss guys.
I can tell you it's a Chevrolet and he purchased it from a team that ran the car last year in the Nascar division.

Congrats to Mr. Connelly are in order...If the scuttlebutt is true (and so far it hasn't failed me) it'll be interesting to see how they deal with some big issues coming up, which so far haven't appeared to be addressed...
