Van Vaerenbergh went out to an early lead after starting from pole position, but a yellow flag, cause by a contact involving Pablo Gallego (#19 Ford Autolix Competition Ford Mustang) and Simone Laureti (#51 Caal Racing Chevrolet SS), canceled his advantage over Wilfried Boucenna (#33 Overdrive Chevrolet SS) 8 minutes into the 30-minutes race. Van Vaerenbergh then made a very good restart and crossed the finish line with a 1.8 seconds margin over the 2009 champion.
Marsilio Canuti (#7 TFT - Leclerc Chevrolet SS) came home third for his second podium of the weekend. The Italian won in the closing stages a hard-fought battle with Maxime Dumarey (#24 PK Carsport Chevrolet SS) and Phillip Lietz (#86 Renauer Motorsport Ford Mustang) and also triumphed in the Challenger classification.
Leonard Vernet (#3 TFT - Moser Vernet Ford Mustang) was sixth and the best of the Legend drivers, while Nathalie Maillet (#46 RCP - Marc VDS Toyota Camry) scored the win the Ladies Cup.
Van Vaerenbergh leads the standings over Canuti and Dumarey as the series moves to Brands Hatch for the second edition of the American SpeedFest on June 7-8.
