It's on the ARCA website. I know Tim Chapman was going down to Ohio for the final race. I guess it was a successful trip. This should be a good show. For race fans and crash fans.

Ya, I'd say so! I missed last years ASA show at Cayuga because someone in our family decided a wedding was better than a car race, that's the 2'nd time that's happened to me (CASCAR season opener at Delaware a few years back too, thankfully a tornado blew thru and it was rain/flood/wind delayed).  >:(

So, it's going to be too bad if anyone else gets married, cuz I'm not missing anymore races.  ;D

Cayuga Speedway needs fans regardless of who is running, and regardless of the fact that they are looking at ARCA or OSS or CTS or ISMA ... the doors are getting closer to swinging one way and it will be sad if that does happen, but from a business point of view, it is a concern. If all of you fans did the math and figured out how much money the owners of race tracks have to put out to put on a show, you would look at them with bobbing heads.

Fans fill seats, and seats fill pockets.
The pockets bring you the best in racing so by tickets and stop complaining about the cost of one unless you are willing to build a Speedaway and let everyone in for half price...then you will only be anthoer Speedway up for sale...
Sorry- but fact !!

fact- operating budget for a short track in Canada min $750,000.00. Fact- sources of income fans, racers and sponsors. all equaling important. take sometime at your home track and do the math. nothing happens in isolation, lower ticket prices then one must charge more fees to the racers, it is a well performed balancing act as my ulcer can attest to during the last two years.

I'm with you AutoAssembler, if people wanna get married, they can do it in Dec. or Jan. or mid-week.

Cayuga Speedway needs fans regardless of who is running,

I agree MidAmerica but how did my thread get highjacked from letting our Canadian fan base and American friends know about ARCA coming up here to the status of Cayuga Speedway? I think it's awesome and I'd like to see them fill the place to the point they need to bring in the portable grandstands for this race!

For the record, I'd be one of the first in line to back Cayuga and promote it! I did purchase seasons tickets last year, and you never heard me complain about the cost either. Cayuga is my favourite track and I consider it one of my home tracks. As a matter of fact, if Cayuga were to run regular weekly racing I'd be there every week to support them. ;)

At any rate, I think it's awesome that ARCA is coming to Cayuga, and anyone who is a race fan should consider getting off their couch and watch this series race up here live! Maybe the OSS should consider being their support race Dave? Who knows if ARCA gets a big draw, maybe it would be good to showcase the OSS in front of a new prospective new fanbase? What do you think???

Cayuga's problem is they run on Saturday. That puts them up against Merrittville and Flamboro in drawing racing fans in the area. Plus the Tigercats play Saturdays alot now, and eventhough they suck, they draw a good crowd. They need to race Sunday. I kno there were lots of racers last year interested in checking out the new Cayuga, but u cant if your racing for points.

That might be true, but I think their bigger problem was blowing the whole budget on hyping the NCTS and hoping that it would be enough to get everyone out for the other stuff, not to mention hoping that area race fans would be ready and willing to drop 50 bucks 2 or 3 times a month. That's how it all looked to me anyway. I don't think they'll make those mistakes again though.

But we'll see. Should be a good race. Apparently we passholders from last year have some pro-bono passes coming for this year too. Which is pretty sweet if they're serious about it.

June 29th is a Sunday. Perhaps Cayuga has wised up.

AutoAssembler, good to here from you my old pal. You made a great point there about OSS coming in on the coat tails of ARAC and I will contact Tim on Monday to see whats up. Thanks for the lead and  I will let you know.
By the way...do you know the announcers name that did the show at Cayuga this year. I met him and I want to talk to the guy but I cant remember his name- (second sign of getting old- first was my grey hair). He is a short guy- full of enthusiasm, walks the starting grid with mike in hand doing intro's.....any clew who I am talking about???

Ya, tell me about the age and memory thing. Half the time, I'll be late for work or whatever and I can't remember what I've done with my glasses, I only use them for driving. guess I should leave them in the truck.

No, I can't think off hand who that announcer would be. I know Adam Ross from Ohsweken announces for them sometimes? Ask Racewoman, she probably would know? If I'm talking to Chip the flagman, I'll ask him?
