Thorold, Ontario (March 30) – Six events are in the books for the World of Outlaw Late Models in 2010 with six different drivers earning feature wins.

Victory Lane celebrations have included rookie Austin Hubbard doing a pretty good ‘Ricky Bobby’ impersonation after winning his first career feature while veteran Rick Eckert recently took Hondo – a real live Texas Longhorn for a ride after winning his first of the season in the Lone Star State.

With some two and a half months to go until Merrittville Speedway’s Thursday June 17th event – the parade of new faces in Victory Lane can’t possibly continue. The anticipation however of who will be the Thorold show place’s inaugural 50 lap winner is certainly picking up the pace -especially since there is a little more than a month to take advantage of advanced ticket pricing.

From now until May 1st – Adult Advanced Tickets are available at a $5 savings at $30 each while Children 5 to 14 years of age are $10 and $12 after the deadline.

“Being in one of the most famous agribusiness and tourist areas in the world,” boasts (Merrittville GM) Erica Bicknell, “who knows what new tradition our first winner will be presented with … sinking their teeth into a vat of just picked strawberries … or maybe a trip over the falls in a barrel … we’ll see!”

Presented by Brian’s Tire Repair, Turn 4 Collision an PineView Drywall – the spectacular brought to race fans by Giant FM, Cotton Inc., IBEW Local 303 Niagara, Toolneeds, TV Cogeco, Modern Corporation and Auto FX Graphics and Signs is shaping up to be ‘the event’ in the 59 year history of Merrittville Speedway.

“Ticket sales have been steady since their season began and when we launched them originally,” reveals Bicknell, “race fans will be coming from all over Southern Ontario … Western New York … we have even sold some to fans in Australia who are planning a trip to our area.”

Joining the Extreme Thursday special event will be another round of the Duel of the Dirt Big 6 Series featuring one of the speedway’s most exciting divisions – the Hoosier Stocks.

With the Speedway Office now open for the season – race fans can visit during business hours Monday to Friday – even Saturdays with a couple weeks of racing schools on the schedule not to mention the Test and Tune Day Saturday April 17th.

Phone orders will also be accepted with either VISA or MasterCard by calling 905-892-8266 or via e mail at ebicknell@cogeco.net.
