With the Montreal Nationwide race now falling on Labor Day weekend, what impact is that going to have on the Cayuga dates?

I thought the same thing but then my dad quickly reminded me that the long weekend in September will be a week later next year so it should not affect the Cayuga dates.  Let's hope not anyway, cause with the weekend off for the Sprint Cup guys we might see a few come join the Nationwide crews.

While on the topic of the 2009 schedule, I'd like to see a return to Delaware.

With the Toronto Indy back next year it should be a lock that NCATS will look to be involved as this would be great exposure Live and on TV.  There are already 13 races so the question would be which of the existing events would/could/should be dropped in order to accomodate a race at the Toronto Indy?

repave then they may consider...

The indy i think would be a great addition, but to be a top-flight series they need to have 20+ dates....this would go a long way to legitimize them...problem is, money isn't there and there does not appear to be many ppl getting into the top series....BUT NASCAR showed they didn't care about the money when they sent the teams out to quebec and back three times.....

Would think that the Toronto Indy is a road course it would not surprise me if a road course was one to be dropped my quess would be Trois Riviers Quebec as they NCTS are already doing the Montreal road course. As for 22Fan asking about the return to Delaware well alot of work needs to be done on the track as racefans there know.If the work is not done odds say no but if they promise NCTS it will be done before next season sure there is a good chance it would happen but I would say the odds of it happening next year are 80%-20% that it does not happen.Quess we will just have to wait and see.

For the money it'd take to get NCATS there (strictly in fees alone) and the product they have, I'd rather see something else.

I think you'll see 14 dates next year. I can't see NASCAR dropping any of the road/street courses as they have the best turnout as far as fans go and car counts, plus the most press. (Mosport RC 29 cars, Cicuit Villeneuve 33, Trois Rivieres 28, Edmonton 22, the highest oval car count , St. Eustache 24).

2 problems with having 20+ races that I see is our season isn't long enough and most of the people working on the teams volunteer their time and have full time jobs & families, the season is hectic enough as it is.

i think the series should make a race at kawartha longer and better paying than the rest and make it like the canadian daytona 500....

i say kawartha because i think thats the best facility and it's 3/8....1/2 would be better or cayuga if it wasn't a dump.....(i haven't been there in a while but i remember it as a dump)

Good question, but in all, something should be because like you've said, it's good exposure.
