2011 Begins to Roll at Brighton Speedway!

Brighton Speedway is getting ready to swing into 2011 at full speed! The 2011 season is shaping up to be another great one at the Brighton Speedway as plans continue to materialize for the upcoming schedule.

It all starts on January 15th as drivers, crews, fans, staff and sponsors gather at the Holiday in Trenton for the annual Celebration of Champions awards banquet.  We start of the New Year by honoring the best of last year in all our divisions and once again we have a sold out event.  Over $20,000 in Cash and Awards will be handed out to the class of 2010 in all five of the speedways weekly divisions.  Additional awards and dance tickets have been made available, contact the speedway office for those interested in attending.

Then in late January the real action is set to hit the track!  Ice races are back and hit the oval for round 1 on January 29th!  Snowmobiles, ATV’s,  Motorcycles (Ice Bikes) and Cars will hit the 1/3rd fully iced surface for a day of fun competition and excitement as the number of competitors and the speeds they travel at increase every year.  Round two will take place on February 12th as the racers come back to the track to try and master the slippery surface once again and allowing racing enthusiasts and hungry fans two exciting events early in the year to get there fix of oval racing.  Indoor heated seating is available in the bar or private booths by contacting the speedway office.  Ice Racing at Brighton Speedway would not happen if it were not for our great sponsors; Trenton Glass & Windows, Battlefield Equipment Rentals, Larry's Towing, Bill's Johns, Rock 107, Dave McDonald Homes, Percy Boom River Rats, Image Landscaping, Star 93.3, Motosports of Trenton and First Place Trailers.

The summer schedule is close to being wrapped up and will be flanked again by Brighton Speedway's five divisions; Vanderlaan Building Supplies Late Models, Bainer's Radiator Canadian Modifieds, Brighton Automotive Pro Stocks, Bill’s Johns Comp 4 and the Quinte Towing Stingers.  Major dates have been confirmed with the Southern Ontario Sprints returning six times again in 2011 as well as the return of the 700+ horse power Ontario Dirt Late Models in July.  The Leons School Bus Races are on the schedule again as well as Vintage cars and Mod Lites!  Applefest weekend will return in 2011 with a similar format that took place in 2010 featuring DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds and the mighty DIRTcar 358 Modifieds!

As anticipation grows for the 2011 season, log on to www. brightonspeedway.com for details to keep up to date with the latest and greatest short track happenings.  And don’t forget to mark January 29th and February 12th 2011 on your calendar for some great off season competition and fun at the track.  Competitors can find race info and registration forms on line.

Looking forward to a great 2011 season the staff and management of Brighton Speedway would like to wish everyone Happy New Year
