107.9 The Breeze presents Dollar Dog Night this Saturday

By Clayton Johns

BRIGHTON (May 5, 2015) - A full night of weekly racing hits Brighton Speedway this Saturday as The Breeze 107.9 presents Dollar Dog Night on May 9. Fans will be able to buy hot dogs all night long for just a loonie while watching five racing divisions in action. Adult spectator general admission is just $10.

Quinte Septic Stingers

The Quinte Septic Stingers will make their season debut this weekend. Reigning champion Del MacGregor will begin his title defense against some stiff competition. The division had nearly 20 cars on several occasions in 2014. It wouldn't be a surprise to see the division surpass that mark to start the season.

Vanderlaan Building Products RUSH Pro Late Models

The second Vanderlaan Building Products RUSH Pro Late Model race of the year should be equally as entertaining as the first. Corey Earl won on opening night after a pass for lead with two laps to go. Steve Baldwin and Phil Potts also led part of the race on opening night and will be hungry to get their first win of the year. Rookie late model driver Tyler Rand was also impressive on opening night with a seventh-place finish after starting 15th. It was just his second start in the car after making the transition from a sprint car.

OilGARD Canadian Modifieds

Andrew Hennessy led every lap of the OilGARD Canadian Modified feature on opening night, but the win was more difficult then it appeared on paper. Hennessy held off challenges from Adam Whaley, Doug O'Blenis, and Dan Ferguson to earn the win. You can expect more of the same this week and likely a few new faces in the field.

Brighton Automotive Pro Stocks

A season opening victory in the Brighton Automotive Pro Stock division was the ideal start for Justin Ramsay. He'll be sure to face another tough battle with Doug Anderson again this week. Leslie Mowat will be in contention for her second career win. Brandon Murrell will look to bounce back from an opening night wreck while Jamie Marshall tries for another top-five finish.

Bill's Johns Comp 4s

The tight battle between Tyler French and Austin Reid in the Bill's Johns Comp 4 main event was impressive on opening night. The two drivers won't be alone this week as they can expect stiff competition from Shelby Mills, Riley Greer, Brady Greer, and Adam Chapman to name just a few. A handful of new drivers should help fill out the field.
