RYAN LITT: WINGLESS WEEKEND
By Tommy Goudge (June 7, 2012) - Ryan Litt and the T&T Promotions #42 Sprint Car team took home a top 5 finish at Kalamazoo Speedway last Saturday. This weekend they're ready to take the wings off, and race at two mid-Michigan tracks.
Ryan laid down the fastest lap in practice for the Auto Value/Bumper to Bumper Super Sprints series event, and followed that with the 3rd fastest time trial lap at 10.66 seconds. Heat race action followed, where Ryan finished 2nd, sandwiched between winner Jason Blonde, and 3rd place teammate Bill Tyler.
Rain fell between the heat races and feature, but did not deter the large crowd in attendance at the racy 3/8 mile track. The feature found Ryan fighting an ill-handling race car, and he held on to take a 5th place finish in a race that was shortened from 50 to 45 laps due to more rain.
"We ran pretty decent all day at Kalamazoo," says Ryan. "(We) just overdid it a bit for the feature, and the car got way too loose. I was really lucky to bring home a top 5, and the car in one piece."
Next up for Ryan is a change of plans. Parts for the #07L team's new Diablo chassis did not arrive in time to be ready for Saturday's Must See Racing Xtreme Sprint Car series event at Lucas Oil Raceway Park. Instead, Ryan will race the T&T Promotions #42 in two local wingless Sprint Car events at tracks in the Lansing, Michigan area - Spartan Speedway, and Springport Motor Speedway.
"I'm really excited about this weekend," says Ryan. "I love non wing racing, and having two good little bullring short tracks to race on fairly close to home. It should be a lot of fun, and I'm hoping to bring home my first non-wing win."
