Late Models Last Night
« on: August 12, 2007, 11:10:57 AM »
Does anyone know if there is a track rule of what happens when during the race under caution,a car leaves the track and goes to the pits to have damage repaired and then returns before the race continues under green. Last night #1 vic parsons went into the pits to have his car repaired and came back onto the track before the race restarted and was given his spot back as if there was no caution.Does anyone know if this is a new rule or an existing one.

I believe it is a new rule. The goal is to stop speeding in the pits.

Do not know about your track but most tracks if you go off the track under caution that car will be put to the back of the field or where he comes back out.I can not see how the leader leaves the track for repair under caution and gets his spot back when he returns but then all tracks are different. This is a problemwith rules make them standard at every track

the only time that they should get their spot back under caution if they are called in by officials to check something,if nothing is found and no work do on the car they get the position back. if something is found or they touch the car to the back of the pack. if you come in on our own back of the pack, you want to stop speeding in the pits hit them with a fine or park them.

yeah if a car is driven in the pits they always go to the rear. I've never seen it any other way

it just had to do with bill being the replacement starter and losing track when there was about 3 or 4 cars in the pits all at the same time

it was a simple error

nothing more, nothing less
