And like last season for the 358 Modified Super DIRTcar Series - weather has already played a role.
With Fulton and Can Am’s Tour Stops rained out – Merrittville Speedway’s Zavitz Financial Strategies and ZFS Employee Benefit Solutions Monday May 24th event will once again launch the season long series when the Thorold showplace’s first Holiday Doubleheader concludes.
“We’re expecting quite a field to challenge our L. St. Amand Enterprises 358 Modifieds,” relates Merrittville GM Erica Bicknell, “while defending race winner and point champion Larry Lampman is not with us this year … concentrating on his career – any of our Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series Drivers have a shot at Victory Lane.”

Merrittville Speedway’s Hoosier Stocks will continue their quest against the Brighton Speedway Pro Stocks in their second Home Track Event of the season in the Duel on the Dirt Big 6 with a 25 lap Feature.
May 24th’s Show also opens another series – the 2010 Grantham Lions Ironman Enduro Qualifiers accelerated by Niagara College. Three times during the season, Enduro enthusiasts race leading up to September 12th’s Motorized Mayhem 100.
Any of the three qualifier winners will once again be in line for a bonus should one of them win the 100 that will close the 59th Season.
“Niagara College continues to be # 1 in student satisfaction,” boasts (Merrittville Speedway GM) Erica Bicknell, adding, “and we are thrilled they are continuing to accelerate our Enduros.”
Once again in 2010 – one driver could stand a chance at an extra $500 should he or she win a qualifier and the main event. With the challenge not met last season – 10 pre-registered drivers shared the pot via a post race draw.
“Our Enduros attract all kinds,” relates (GM) Erica Bicknell, “ drivers with no experience … some that have run this type of event before and even some of our regular Saturday Night Lucas Oil Weekly Racing Series competitors … but in the end it’s more survival than experience that counts.”
“Preregistering now takes on a whole new meaning,” reveals Bicknell, “anyone that enters by September 1st – will be eligible.”

Who ever is the last driver standing and in Victory Lane at the end of the Motorized Mayhem 100 – Qualifier Winner or not – that driver will also earn a guaranteed starting spot for the November $10,000 to win 4 Cylinder Enduro at the Black Rock Speedway in Dundee NY.
