Ohsweken, Ontario - July 9, 2014 - Ohsweken Speedway's 19th season of racing continues this Friday, July 11, when Affordable Towing & Recovery presents weekly racing featuring Corr/Pak Merchandising 360 Sprint Cars, Strickland's GMC Crate Sprint Cars, Affordable Towing & Recovery Thunder Stocks, HRW Automotive Mini Stocks, and Gale's Auto Aftermarket Bombers, plus Vintage Modifieds.
CORR/PAK MERCHANDISING 360 SPRINT CARS
Glenn Styres spun early in last week's feature race, but recovered to finish 5th and keep his lead in the 360 Sprint Car championship standings. Mitch Brown was the runner-up to SOS vs. Corr/Pak feature winner Steve Collins last Friday, and is now 25 points behind Styres in the standings, followed by 2011 and 2013 champ Jim Huppunen, Kyle Patrick, 2012 champ Chris Steele, 2010 champ Dave Dykstra, Shane Ross, Todd Hoddick, Justin Martin, and Jamie Turner. Cory Turner is the current Rookie of the Year standings leader, and sits 12th overall in the championship standings.
STRICKLAND'S GMC CRATE SPRINT CARS
Brad Herron won his first Crate Sprint Car feature last Friday, but Ryan Hunsinger continues to lead the championship standings. Aaron Turkey is second in the standings, followed by Jake Brown, Josh Shantz, and Mike Thorne.
AFFORDABLE TOWING & RECOVERY THUNDER STOCKS
2013 champ Lee Winger went back to Mobil 1 Victory Lane last Friday night, but he is third in the championship standings, chasing leader Wyatt Van Wart, and Dave Silverthorn, Jr. in second place. Winger is tied for third with Billy Bleich, Jr., followed by Dave Bailey, Chris Dickie, Jim Lampman, Karl Sault, Rookie of the Year leader Chase Hess, and Ryan Dinning.
HRW AUTOMOTIVE MINI STOCKS
Rookie of the Year leader Mark Bazuin won his first Mini Stock feature last Friday, but Tyler Lafantaisie took a runner-up finish, and holds a 50 point advantage at the top of the championship standings. Team 66 (Jon and Brandon Janssens) is currently second, followed by Bazuin, Team 81 (Alex Schuts and Lee Hils), Lucas Lubin, Team 79 (Steve and Dan Miller), Robin Elliott, Matt Nuell, Jonathan Ayrton, and Team 55 (Rob and Kevin Slater).
GALE'S AUTO AFTERMARKET BOMBERS
Max Chechalk won his third Bomber feature of the season last Friday, but a tough start to the year has him sitting 5th in the championship standings. 2013 champ Dusty DeBoer is enjoying a consistent season, and leads the championship standings, followed by Joe DeBoer, Gillian Hils, Ashton Reekie, and Chechalk.
