Trivia Jack Cook  won 3 championships in 1 year.

Very good Sue . He was the only Canadian driver to ever do that.

Sunset was the king, Steve Slaughter was the best, and every one bad mouthed him, he had the bestshows, the best marketing, best mall shows, the best staff you name it,and he was smart enough to sell the mortage to coats and get well clear of the  (trivia time) mistake by the lake.

That would be just great for them to come to Barrie Speedway.

Apparently they still have to rookie starter s working at the track. Althought Morrow has had his car on Sunset Shows.

They did not come to the Mall, Because there was not enough traffic in the Mall.  Poor Excuse, Slaughters always did a great promotion there and gave out free passes. If there is a poor attendance this year I can see Coates is ready to take it over.

I have to agree with Glenn on this one.  The Kozlov mall used to have a ton of traffic.  For anyone who has been there the last couple of years, I challenge you to walk from one end to the other and count more than 10 people who are not mall employees.  With the Georgian Mall being upper class, and Barrie already being at Bayfield, there wasn't many options.

If I remember correctly that last year Rob Poole was allowed to run opening night under home track(Sunset) rules and after crushing the feild by about 1/2 track over second place(and that only took about 10 laps after the last caution fell) he was then given his payout and they took the trophy and points(even though im pretty sure he registered) and was told dont come back on any points nights.

Mall show is a poor excuse what about the poor drivers who worked hard all winter they are entitled to show off their nice cars plus their sponsors deserve it or truth be known cheap skate Glen did not want to pay the $1000.00 it costs, cause he had to pay coates loan.Lets face it Sunset is a joke these days, not even enough interest to get a good debate going for the last 3 months, if you are a serious racer you race at Barrie, if you want to race and have very little competition you race at Sunset, Vic and Morrow, and Poole should be ashamed of themselves, lots of people say bad things about Walters but fact is he will race anyone any time, its a crime that Richard Petty stole Tom's nickname.

If you feel so passionate about the mall show, why don't you pay the $1000 fee and help out the poor drivers who want to expose their cars to the public?

Do you think it's possible that Parsons, Morrow, and Poole have a different perspective of the 2 race tracks and have chosen to race where they want to race and not where you think they should race?

I didn't know that about Factory Jack. He was a certainly a strong runner in his day. When did he do this and what tracks were involved? My guess is 1965 CNE, Wasaga Beach and somewhere else.

You can't call me a Sunset "ded head". I haven't been there in years and I've never been to Barrie Spweedway.
