NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES TO RETURN TO CANADIAN TIRE MOTORSPORT PARK IN 2016

Only Canadian Stop For The Truck Series Back On Labour Day Weekend

(BOWMANVILLE, ON – November 10, 2015) Canadian Tire Motorsport Park is thrilled to announce that the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will return to the famous 3.957 km road course on Labour Weekend (September 4).

As with previously announced NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series schedules, agreements have been reached with the tracks to host the Camping World Truck Series through 2020.

“We look forward to welcoming back the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series this year and for the foreseeable future,” said Myles Brandt, president and general manager.

“We expect that the stability of the newly announced five-year agreement will benefit Canadian Tire Motorsport Park, our partners, the competitors and certainly the fans. With three straight races that produced drama and excitement, we anticipate more of the same going forward as the stars of tomorrow look to leave an impression.”

In 2015, for the third year in a row, the Camping World Truck Series race came down to the very last lap. The exciting 64-lap contest was won by current points leader Erik Jones. The driver of the #4 Kyle Busch Motorsports Toyota holds a 17-point lead with just two races remaining as he looks for his first NASCAR championship.

“For more than 20 years, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series has been home to some of the closest side-by-side racing in the sport, and we’re committed to delivering that to our fans for many years to come,” said Steve O'Donnell, NASCAR executive vice president and chief racing development officer.
